I've been a loyal CamelCamelCamel user for basically a decade at this point and I usually consider myself pretty savvy with scraping price history and setting up alerts, but lately it feels like the site is totally failing me for Amazon.ca. I'm trying to track this specific Breville espresso machine for my wife's 30th birthday next month—I'm in the GTA so I'm looking at Canadian prices specifically—and the fluctuations are driving me insane. The price keeps dipping for like an hour and by the time I get the email notification, it's already back up to the $900 MSRP. It's like the refresh rate on their side is way too slow or something?
I'm getting really anxious because I have a hard cap on my budget and I can't afford to just buy it whenever. I've heard people mention Keepa but then I saw they started locking the actual price history graphs behind a paywall and I really don't want to sign up for another monthly subscription just to save a bit of money on a one-time gift. It feels like the free options for us Canadians are getting slimmer and slimmer.
I need a new tool that hits these marks:
Does anyone have a secret tool they use that actually works for the Canadian site? I'm worried if I don't find something more reliable than CCC I'm gonna end up overpaying by like two hundred bucks and I really can't let that happen right now. Is there something better out there or am I just stuck with lagging data...
Honestly, Keepa is still your best bet for the Canadian site. Even with the paid tier stuff, the basic extension shows the price graph right on the Amazon page for free. Its way faster at catching those sudden price drops than CCC.
