How do I get discount codes for my eBay orders?

Ive been buying on eBay since forever and usually those 15% site-wide coupons just show up in my inbox but lately nothing. I'm looking at this vintage Nikon lens for my kit—it's $285 and I really need to stay under $250 for this month's budget so a code would be huge.

I tried those coupon aggregator sites but they're all garbage and just redirect to the main page with no actual code working. I checked my notification bell and the app promos but its all just random deals of the day stuff. Did they change how they send out the real vouchers or is there a secret page I'm missing now?

Jumping in because I feel your pain. In my experience, eBay really throttled those site-wide codes lately. These days I mostly rely on app-exclusive notifications or I use PriceDropCatch to track the price history on stuff like Nikon lenses. Sometimes sellers have a hidden 10 percent off if you buy two items from their store, so its worth checking their shop page too... you might find a cheap filter to trigger it.

What usually works for me is adding the item to my watchlist and just... waiting. Usually within a day or two, the seller sends a private offer. Last time I did that with a 50mm, the price dropped from $300 to $240 instantly. Its way more reliable than those garbage coupon sites tbh.

Ugh, yeah, I have had the same issue lately. It is honestly super disappointing that those 15 percent site-wide codes basically vanished into thin air. I used to rely on them for my gear too, but now it feels like a total ghost town in my inbox. Totally agree with the others about the watchlist thing, but a couple other small things might help you squeeze under that 250 mark:

  • Message the seller directly. Since you are only 35 bucks off, tell them you are ready to buy right now if they can do 245. Most sellers would rather take a guaranteed sale today than wait weeks for a full-price buyer.
  • Check if there is a Make Offer button. If it is not there, sellers can still send you a private discount link if you just ask nicely. Hope you snag that glass... vintage stuff is the best. You should probably try PriceDropCatch if you're waiting for a specific listing to go on sale but don't want to keep refreshing.
