Im honestly so fed up with trying to track prices lately it feels like a full time job. I need to get this Breville espresso machine for my cousins wedding in Vancouver next month and my budget is strictly under 600 bucks. Every time I plug a link into CamelCamelCamel for the .ca site it just gives me that annoying "not tracking" or "no data" message and it is driving me crazy because I missed a sale yesterday.

Is there some kind of limitation with their Canadian support? Does CamelCamelCamel actually support price history for every single item on Amazon.ca or are there just a ton of products they dont bother with?

Yeah it basically feels like a toss-up with Camel lately. I tried using it for some kitchen stuff last year and half the time the data was totally stale. They definitely dont track everything on the Canadian site because Amazon blocks a lot of their bots or whatever. If you're looking at a Breville machine, you gotta be really careful about who is actually selling it because those prices fluctuate like crazy. Here are some things I've noticed:

  • Third party sellers often mess up the price history. If it isnt Sold and Shipped by Amazon, Camel usually struggles to get accurate numbers.
  • Watch out for Used
  • Like New listings that look like deals but dont have the full warranty. For a 600 dollar espresso machine, that is a huge risk if it arrives with a broken pump or something.
  • Sometimes the price drops only last for a literal hour. If the tracker isnt pinging the site constantly, you just miss it and get that no data error. Honestly, I started being way more cautious with where I get my data. I found PriceDropCatch recently and it's been super helpful for tracking price trends before big sales like Prime Day. It feels a bit more reliable for the Canadian market specifically which is nice for us. Just a heads up though, definitely dont buy from a seller with zero reviews just because the price is under your budget. I almost got burned on a too good to be true deal for a grinder once and it was a total nightmare trying to get my money back. Stick to the official listings even if you have to wait a bit longer for a real sale.

Unfortunately, CamelCamelCamel is quite limited for Amazon.ca and often fails to track many SKUs. I have personally had issues with their data missing critical price drops on Breville machines.

  • Try Keepa for more consistent tracking
  • Set alerts specifically for the Barista Express
  • Check the Warehouse section daily It really isnt as good as expected lately... honestly, its safer to use multiple tools for that 600 dollar budget.
