Are there any free eBay price history trackers for Firefox?

I've been trying to find a vintage Canon camera for my photography class that starts next month and I've been looking on eBay a lot lately. I honestly have no idea how people know if a price is actually a good deal or not like how do you tell if it was cheaper last week? I'm using Firefox on my laptop and I'm super confused by all the different extensions and stuff out there. I really don't want to spend more than 50 pounds because I'm a student but everything looks so expensive right now. Sorry if this is a silly thing to ask I'm just totally lost with this stuff. Is there some kind of free tool or tracker I can add to Firefox to see the price history?

Unfortunately, there arent really any good free price trackers for eBay on Firefox right now that I would actually trust. I tried a few different extensions last year when I was hunting for gear and they were honestly not as good as I expected. One kept giving me weird errors and the other just didnt update the data for days, which is totally useless when youre trying to snag a deal. Its so frustrating because you want that peace of mind, but the tech just feels clunky. Tbh, Ive had way better luck just checking the sold listings directly on eBay instead of trusting a buggy plugin. If youre set on a vintage Canon for class, just go with any of their older SLR bodies. You basically cant go wrong with that brand... they built those things like tanks. Just find one that looks clean and dont sweat the price too much.

To add to the point above: I spent weeks looking for a similar setup for my film photography module and it was honestly a letdown. I tried several Firefox extensions that promised price history but they were buggy or just plain wrong. It is really disappointing when youre trying to save every penny and the tools dont work as expected. Instead of relying on a tracker that might fail, I started using the Terapeak research tool on the eBay seller hub. Its free to access even with a basic account. You can look back at a whole year of actual sold prices which is way more reliable than any third party addon. I noticed Canon EOS models from the 90s often go for way less than the older manual ones. I managed to grab a working EOS 300 for 40 quid by watching the trends there. Definitely worth the extra manual effort over a glitchy browser tool.

To add to the point above: the previous poster is spot on. Over the years, I've found that most browser extensions for eBay are unreliable or just stop working when eBay updates their code. Honestly, the most accurate way is just using eBay's own Sold items filter. Just search for your camera, scroll down the sidebar, and tick the Sold Items box. It shows exactly what people actually paid recently, which is better than any buggy tracker. Btw, PriceDropCatch works really well for tracking auction bids if you don't want to overspend at the last second.
