I just started this new high-intensity interval training class and man it is a lot of movement like jumping around and burpees and I'm sweating bucketloads. My current earbuds are some random ones I got on sale and they literally fly out of my ears whenever I start running on the treadmill which is super annoying and kinda embarrassing. I keep seeing people with those big Sony over-ear headphones and they look cool but I don't know if they'd just slide off my head or get ruined by all the sweat because I'm basically a human waterfall after ten minutes. I tried looking at their website but there are so many letters and numbers like WH-something and XM-whatever and I'm totally lost honestly. I have about 300 dollars saved up from my birthday to spend on this and I really need to get something by next Friday before my next big session since I'm in Austin and the heat even inside the gym is getting crazy. Are the big ones better or should I stick to the small ones that go inside? I'm worried the big ones will get smelly or the leather will peel off if I sweat on them every day. Sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask I just have no idea what I'm doing and don't want to waste my money on something that's gonna break in a month. What is the best Sony headphone for someone who moves around a lot and sweats a ton?

To add to the point above: over-ears dont have IP ratings for sweat. I'd suggest Sony WF-1000XM5 Noise Canceling Earbuds instead for HIIT.

  • IPX4 moisture resistance
  • Secure foam tips
  • Under $300 budget

Tbh those big over-ear ones are a huge mistake for HIIT. I tried it once and it was a mess.

  • Sweat will rot the pads in months and theyll start peeling.
  • They fly off your head during burpees or jumps.
  • Electronics inside arent usually built for heavy moisture. Stick to in-ear ones with wing tips. Theyre way more reliable for movement and wont get ruined by sweat.
