So I finally caved and bought myself a PS5 Pro after saving up for ages and Im honestly super excited to get it set up. The thing is, I feel kinda silly admitting this but I have no idea what accessories are actually worth the money? Like, I see people talking about charging docks and covers and fancy headsets but I dont know what I really need versus what is just for show. I live in a pretty small apartment here in Chicago so I dont have a ton of space for a huge gaming setup or anything.
Here is what I am trying to figure out:
I want to get everything ready before the weekend so I have a bit of a deadline here. I just want the essentials to keep things organized and make sure my controllers dont die mid-game. Sorry if this is a super basic question, I just dont want to waste my cash on junk...
Congrats on the Pro, that thing is a beast. Honestly, dont bother with those cheap cooling stands you see on Amazon; they usually just restrict airflow and add more noise, which you definitely dont want in a small apartment. Keep it simple and stick to the basics. For charging, I love the Sony DualSense Charging Station because it clicks in perfectly and looks clean without all the cables. If you want something cheaper, the NexiGo PS5 Controller Charging Dock does the job fine but feels a bit more plasticky. Regarding headsets, skip the high-end stuff and grab the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 Wired Headset. It stays under your budget, fits well, and the sound quality is better than most headsets twice the price. Just keep your setup minimal and you will be golden.
Saw this earlier but just now getting a chance to reply. Honestly, I learned the hard way about those cheap charging accessories. I tried a generic station a while back and the connectors felt flimsy, and it actually scratched the charging port on my controller, which really sucked. Since you want to be safe, skip the knock-offs. I switched over to the Sony DualSense Charging Station and it just works, no hassle. For audio, I used to swear by the <a href=" https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt= SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+1+Wired+Headset&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 Wired Headset because it is super light for those long sessions in a cramped apartment. I did test out the HyperX Cloud III Wired Gaming Headset too, but it felt a bit bulkier in comparison. Definitely stick to the reliable stuff so you dont have to rebuy things in a few months like I did.
Re: "Saw this earlier but just now getting a..." - honestly, just go on YouTube and search for PS5 Pro accessory reviews. There are tons of channels that do deep dives on this stuff. Its way easier to see them in action than reading forum posts tbh. Just watch a few comparison videos and you will figure out what fits your place pretty fast.
