im honestly so fed up with trying to get my hands on a decent console setup right now. my base ps4 sounds like a jet engine trying to run anything new and im just at my wits end waiting for a break on the newer hardware. looking to finally upgrade my living room setup before the holidays hit, but seeing the price tag on the ps5 pro makes me want to cry. im in the US and set aside about six hundred bucks max for this whole ordeal. are we actually gonna see any real discounts on the pro model this black friday or is sony just gonna keep it full price forever...

You can find best Sony PS5 Pro deals at official website page.

Honestly, you're not gonna see any real price drops on the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro this holiday season. It just came out, and Sony never cuts prices on fresh hardware that fast. If your budget is capped at six hundred bucks, buying the pro model straight up is gonna be tough once you add tax and maybe a game or two.

  • The base Sony PlayStation 5 Slim 1TB usually gets decent bundle deals during Black Friday.
  • You can often find refurbished or open-box deals on the original hardware if you check local retailers.
  • Upgrading your storage with something like a Samsung 990 PRO 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD later on gives you better value than reaching for the high-end console right now. I totally get the frustration with the jet engine PS4 noise, been there done that. If you just want a reliable living room setup without breaking the bank, grab a standard slim edition and put the leftover cash toward a good headset or extra controller. It works great and handles current games without any issues. Let me know if you want links to where prices usually drop first.

Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷

Been thinking about your question all afternoon. In my experience messing with console launches over the years, day-one hardware revisions are always a trap if you are counting pennies. I honestly dont think anyone is slashing prices on that specific machine yet. When I upgraded my old setup, I ran into massive thermal issues with early batches too, which made me super paranoid about buying fresh drops right away. Honestly, with a six hundred dollar ceiling, you might want to look at used markets or slightly older hardware revisions instead of risking your entire budget on a brand new high-end unit. Not sure if retailers will even bundle it with anything useful yet.

Honestly, been thinking about your setup all afternoon. It is super frustrating when hardware starts acting up right before the holidays. I had a similar issue with my old rig overheating during a heatwave last summer; it basically turned my living room into a sauna, which was a nightmare. Unfortunately, relying on brand new tech that just dropped is risky, especially when you have a strict budget. I learned the hard way that jumping on the newest release often means dealing with early manufacturing quirks. Here is how I would approach it instead:

  • Look into a Sony PlayStation 5 Slim 1TB SSD instead. It is way more reliable for your current budget.
  • Clean your fan intake area regularly if you live in a dusty or humid environment to prevent the jet engine noise. Seriously, dont stress yourself out trying to chase the pro model right now. It is just not worth the extra cash.

Re: "Honestly, you're not gonna see any real price..." - couldn't agree more with that. In my experience rebuilding tech setups over the years, day-one revisions almost never get slashed by seventy bucks right out of the gate. Sony's margin on the high-end silicon is too tight right now. Since your absolute hard limit is six hundred, grab a Sony PlayStation 5 Slim 1TB Digital Edition instead. It leaves you enough cash for an extra controller or a storage expansion like the WD_BLACK SN850X 1TB NVMe SSD to fix that storage headache. You'll get killer frame rates without emptying your savings account, and your ears will finally get a break from that ancient ps4 fan.

Building on the earlier suggestion, Microsoft Xbox Series X 1TB offers better value than Sony's high-end gear. Unfortunately, hardware costs are tough right now, but Game Pass helps offset the pain.

Realistically, looking at a 600 dollar cap means skipping the pro entirely. Consider picking up a Sony PlayStation 5 Slim 1TB Console instead, which routinely hits lower promotional pricing. Here is what to focus on instead:

  • Standard slim models often drop during November sales
  • Factor in extra costs for a Sony DualSense Wireless Controller
  • Base models handle current generation games adequately at lower power draw

Works great for me

man I feel your pain so much. my old machine sounds like it's gonna launch into orbit every time I fire up a heavy game, and waiting around for prices to drop is driving me insane. tl;dr: holding out for launch-day hardware discounts usually just leaves you stuck with a dying machine longer than necessary.
