Just picked up a PS5 Pro and now I'm stressing about what I actually need for it. I saw some people online swearing by those cooling stands, but then others say they just choke the console and cause more dust, so my logic was maybe just stick to a good headset? I have about 150 bucks left over for accessories. Im mostly playing in my bedroom and I definitely need something to charge my controllers since the cable that comes with it is annoying. Is the official charging station worth it or is there a cheaper third party one that wont ruin my battery? Also, do I really need a faceplate or is that just for looks...
Building on the earlier suggestion, skip the extra cosmetics. Just grab an Anker Powerline+ III USB-C Cable 6ft for extra reach and maybe a Western Digital Black SN850P 2TB NVMe SSD later.
^ This. Also, if you want a great headset for that remaining budget, check out the Sony PlayStation Pulse 3D Wireless Headset. It is optimized for the spatial audio which is basically a must for the Pro. Just be careful with third-party docks because some cheap ones dont have proper voltage regulation. Stick to the official Sony PlayStation DualSense Charging Station to be safe. Honestly, avoid faceplates, they dont do anything for performance.
Honestly skip the cooling stands. They just collect dust and barely help. You're better off spending that budget on a solid charging dock for your controllers because the standard cable is a nightmare to manage.
