Just picked up a Sony RX100 VII and I am totally terrified of scratching the screen already. Sorry if this is a super basic question but I have absolutely no idea what I should be looking for. I dont want to spend a ton of money, maybe under 20 bucks, and I need something that wont mess up the touch screen features. I basically just carry it in my bag when I walk my dog so I need some decent protection. Do I want glass or plastic? Is there a brand that is actually easy to put on? I feel like I am definitely gonna mess up the installation if it is complicated...

Honestly get the Expert Shield Crystal Clear Screen Protector! It is amazing, super easy to install without bubbles, and keeps the touch screen totally responsive for your RX100 VII.

Jumping in here because I totally get the anxiety with a camera like that. Honestly, ditch the plastic films, they scratch way too fast and feel cheap under your finger. Over the years, I've tried many, and I always go for tempered glass now. It feels just like the real screen and it's way tougher against keys or random junk in your bag. I personally use the Sony PCK-LG1 Screen Protector Kit on my own gear. It is a bit more than a generic one, but the clarity is perfect and it doesn't mess with the touch sensitivity at all. Installation is super simple if you clean the screen really well with a microfiber cloth first. Just take your time, don't rush the alignment, and let the glass do the work. You'll be fine.

Just saw this thread. Honestly, stop stressing about it. I went through three different brands before realizing they are all pretty similar. Just grab whatever tempered glass protector you find on Amazon with decent reviews and you will be fine.

  • Dont overthink the installation
  • Glass is way better than plastic
  • Keep your screen clean before sticking it on Really, just pick one and dont worry about the brand. Your camera will be protected.
