So I just picked up a ZV-E10 for my Japan trip next month but the kit lens is honestly kinda trash for vlogging because my face takes up the whole screen. I've been looking at the Sony 11mm f1.8 but it's pretty pricey and then I saw the Sigma 16mm f1.4 which is cheaper but people say with the active steady shot crop it ends up being way too tight for handheld stuff... idk what to believe.
Is there something else I should be looking at or should I just bite the bullet on the Sony 11mm?
Re: "Honestly, forget that 16mm, it's way too tight..." - yeah that crop is no joke. I was worried about reliability but I've been super happy with the Viltrox 13mm f/1.4 STM AF. It feels solid and the AF works well even in low light. Quick question tho, are you gonna use a shooting grip or just hold the camera? Just wanna make sure the weight wont bother you since you're walking all day.
Honestly, forget that 16mm, it's way too tight once you turn on stabilization! You should definitely grab the Samyang AF 12mm f2.0 E. It's absolutely fantastic for vlogging and much cheaper than the Sony 11mm. I love it cuz it's super light for all-day carrying and the autofocus is surprisingly snappy. It's the perfect budget pick for your Japan trip! Seriously, it's amazing and plenty wide.
Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
