Starting my Japan travel vlog next month and super hyped! Logic was the Sigma 16mm f1.4 since its cheap but then I thought maybe the Sony 11mm f1.8 is better for handheld vlogging? I only got like $400 left in the budget... torn between both, which one is actually better for walking around?

Honestly, I bought the Sigma 16mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary for a trip last year and unfortunately it was a bit of a mistake for handheld stuff. Its way too heavy and not as wide as I expected once you turn on active stabilization... it crops in so much your face basically fills the whole frame. Ngl I was pretty disappointed with the weight after walking for like 2 hours. It feels like a giant brick on the ZV-E10. If you got $400, seriously go for the Sony E 11mm f1.8. Its way lighter for walking around Japan and that extra width is a lifesaver when you're holding the camera at arms length. Plus the autofocus is way snappier on a native Sony body. Skip the Sigma for vlogging, its just way too bulky for that tiny camera body.
Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.
