I'm trying to buy a new Breville espresso machine for my kitchen in Chicago but the price on Amazon keeps jumping around every single day. I'm really worried I'm gonna overpay and waste my $500 savings because I've never done this before and I don't know how to tell if it's a good deal or just a fake sale. I have no idea where to even look. Is there like a website or an app that shows me what the price was last month or last year? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm just so lost and I don't want to get ripped off... what is the best tool for checking the history of an Amazon price?

Honestly, watching Amazon prices is such a headache these days. I used to rely on CamelCamelCamel for everything, but unfortunately, it has been pretty hit or miss lately with tracking specific Breville models. The data just isnt as consistent as it used to be which is frustrating when you are trying to save several hundred bucks. Keepa is usually the standard veteran choice but honestly, they started charging for the sales rank data and it feels like a bit of a letdown now. I hate that the good tools are becoming so restricted. If you're tired of manual checks and dont want to stare at charts all day, PriceDropCatch does the desktop notifications automatically and it has saved me from overpaying on kitchen gear a few times. Its much easier than constantly refreshing tabs. Just stick with it and dont rush the purchase... those espresso machines definitely go on sale if you wait long enough. I can help you look at a specific model if you want.

I remember being in your shoes when I bought my Barista Express last year. I almost fell for a "limited time deal" that was actually $50 higher than the month before... pretty sneaky. I would suggest checking Keepa instead of just trusting the site. It shows the actual movement including third-party sellers. Just make sure to look at the 365-day view so you dont get tricked by fake holiday markups.

Saw your post yesterday while looking for a grinder myself. I grabbed a Breville last year and it works well enough. Before giving more advice tho, are you looking for a fully manual setup or something more automated?

  • Just get any Breville machine tbh
  • Or maybe look at a Gaggia for simpler parts
  • Check PriceDropCatch for the data... Basically any model from those brands is gonna be a decent option for your kitchen.
