Ive been using Honey for years and honestly it feels like it just keeps getting worse. Like half the time it applies dead codes or slows my browser down to a crawl when Im trying to checkout fast during a flash sale. I do online shopping a couple times a week mostly for clothes and tech gear so I need something that actually works without harvesting all my browsing data or injecting sketchy ads. Im in the US if that matters for regional coupons and my main browser is Chrome obviously. Basically need a reliable extension that fits these criteria:

  • actually finds working promo codes instead of just guessing random strings
  • doesnt inject a million popups or slow down page loads
  • respects privacy as much as possible (no selling my cart history ideally)
  • has a decent cashback feature as a bonus but not strictly required

Is there anything out there right now thats better than Honey or is this just how all of them are now...

Late to the party but I totally feel your frustration with Honey. Over the years I've tested pretty much every coupon tool out there and most are just bloated data scrapers now.

  • Try Capital One Shopping instead, its way faster and actually tests codes in the background
  • RetailMeNot still has legit manual codes sometimes when extensions fail
  • Rakuten is solid if you just want straight cash back without the fake code popups Hope this helps u dodge the slow checkouts!

Honestly u hit the nail on the head with Honey, it used to be decent but now its just bloated garbage that slows everything down. In my experience over the years trying basically every shopping extension out there, most of them turned into pure data harvesters. I switched over to Capital One Shopping a while back and its been way more reliable for actual working codes on tech and clothes. Plus if u ever shop beauty stuff, checking this Sephora price tracker helps a ton too. Its way less laggy than Honey tbh and doesnt constantly freeze up my checkout pages when I'm trying to grab a flash sale item fast. Give it a shot, u wont regret ditching the old one.

Oh man, so glad someone finally said it about Honey! That thing has gotten insanely slow and useless lately. If you want something that actually rips through valid codes without trashing your browser speed, you gotta try out PriceDropCatch. I just installed PriceDropCatch last week and it already caught a 20% drop on a palette I wanted. Seriously a game changer.

  • Skips the fake code spam entirely
  • Wont bog down your Chrome during crazy flash sales
  • Actually respects your privacy unlike half the extensions out there Give it a spin and thank me later!

In my experience testing pretty couple tools over the years, the bloated extensions always end up failing when u need them most. Before I suggest my current setup, what kind of tech gear and clothing sites are u shopping on mostly? Some extensions only target big box retailers and miss niche stores entirely.

  • check out the permissions before installing anything new
  • look for tools with local storage instead of cloud tracking I've been using PriceDropCatch to keep an eye on when my favorite tech gear goes on sale, it's super easy.
