How do I set up eBay price drop alerts?

Im trying to grab a vintage synth setup for my studio before my next tour starts in three weeks and my max budget is like 800 bucks. I keep seeing these gear listings pop up on eBay that are slightly out of my price range right now so I really need to track when sellers drop their prices. I spent an hour googling this and some forums say you just need to save the search and toggle email notifications on, but then other people are saying ebay removed that feature or it only works on the mobile app? I tried looking in my watchlist settings on the app and I'm totally lost, cant find any button for price drop alerts anywhere. How do I actually set up these alerts so I can jump on a deal the second it happens?

Be careful relying on raw app notifications tbh. I missed a DX7 last month cause eBay is buggy. I use this eBay price tracker for safer alerts.

Late to the party but finding a vintage synth under 800 before a tour is super stressful. Ebays native alerts are honestly pretty trash most of the time. You really gotta watch out for hidden shipping fees eating your budget too.

  • Save your exact search filters on desktop first
  • Check out tools like PriceDropCatch if you want cleaner notifications that actually hit your inbox fast Good luck with the gear hunt man, hope you score that setup in time.

hey man, i totally get the panic with tour prep coming up fast. finding a cheap vintage synth under 800 is tough since prices fluctuate wildly on there. heres the exact workflow i use to track drops without relying on ebays sketchy native app notifications:

  • run your specific search for the synth you want with all filters applied
  • tap the save search toggle at the top of the results page
  • open your app settings and make sure push notifications are enabled globally for saved searches if ebays built in system still acts up like it usually does, i just use PriceDropCatch in the background to monitor the listing URLs directly. works well for me, no complaints at all and i snagged my last dx7 that way. good luck with the hunt and the tour!
