trying to pick out things for my first college dorm with my roommate and I have a bunch of stuff in my amazon cart. I want her to see it but I really dont want to give her my password because my cards are on there. sorry if this is dumb but how do I share the cart without the password?
Omg dorm shopping is literally the best part of starting college!! Honestly dont even worry about the password thing, you are totally right to keep that private. Amazon accounts have so much personal info and your cards are right there... I would never give mine out either lol. It is definitely not a dumb question at all! The easiest and most amazing way to do this is using the Collaborative List feature. Instead of keeping stuff in your cart, just move it all to a new list. Click the invite button at the top of the list and send the link to your roommate! She can then see everything, add her own comments, or even move things she likes into her own cart. It makes everything so organized and honestly saved me and my roomie from buying two of the same microwave last year haha. We loved being able to see what the other person was thinking in real time. Another fantastic tool if you really want to send the actual cart is a browser extension called Share-a-Cart. It basically turns your cart into a unique code that she can plug in on her end. It is super practical and totally free. Both ways keep your login and cards totally safe while you guys pick out all your cute decor! TL;DR: Move your items to a Collaborative Wish List and invite her, or use the Share-a-Cart extension to send the items directly without ever sharing a password.
Dorm shopping is a total blast but yeah, you definitely shouldnt be handing over your login details to anyone. Safety first! Before you settle on a specific method, I have a couple questions to help narrow it down for you:
> how do I share the cart? Unfortunately Amazon makes this weirdly difficult. I had issues with Wish Lists, so I just use share amazon canada cart now. It works way better.
Exactly what I was thinking
