okay so sorry if this is a super dumb question but im kinda losing my mind trying to figure out how people actually track sales on amazon without constantly checking every single day lol.

heres the deal: my birthday is coming up next month and my girlfriend asked what i want, so ive been eyeing this really nice espresso machine thats normally like 450 bucks. my budget is tight though, so i really need to get it on sale. i live in the us if that matters at all for these things. anyway, i was thinking i could just refresh the page every morning with my coffee, but obviously thats dumb and im gonna forget. my logic was there has to be some free app or website that just pings your phone when the price drops, right? like, my friend mentioned something called a camel site once? camelcamel...? i have no idea. i googled it and got totally overwhelmed by like twenty different extension things and price trackers and i dont want to download sketchy malware onto my laptop.

so basically, what is the easiest and totally free way to set up price alerts for amazon items? do i need an account somewhere or an app on my phone? would love something simple that just emails me or sends a notification when it finally goes down...

> check out PriceDropCatch. I started using... Just noticed this thread. Tracking Amazon pricing data programmatically is actually pretty straightforward once you understand how their catalog handles historical price fluctuations. Camelcamelcamel uses standard API scraping methods to log historical CSV data points at specific intervals, which is why real-time alerts sometimes have a 12 to 24-hour delay depending on the cron job frequency. Are you looking strictly for instant push notifications via an app, or would a daily historical price chart suffice for your espresso machine hunt? Also, what specific model are you targeting since MSRP drops usually follow predictable quarterly patterns?

Camelcamelcamel is probably what your friend meant, but honestly Ive had issues with extensions tracking things reliably lately. A lot of those browser add-ons are sketchy and end up spamming your inbox or worse. If you want something safe and straightforward without downloading junk, check out PriceDropCatch. I started using it last year after missing a major drop on some gear I wanted, and its super simple. You just paste the amazon link right in there and set your target price. No weird permissions needed on your browser. Plus, it shows the price history so you can actually see if that four hundred dollar espresso machine has ever been lower, or if the sale is fake.
