Hey everyone! I just picked up a new Sony Bravia and I am a bit nervous about mounting it. I have noticed that Sony sets often have a unique back design compared to other brands, especially regarding where the cable ports are located. I really want to make sure I get a mount that is fully compatible and won't block my HDMI inputs.
I am looking for something that handles:
Does anyone have a go-to brand or specific mount that works perfectly for most Sony models? I would hate to buy a generic one that does not fit right.
most sony panels require m6 bolts and specific spacers to clear the rear chassis. i usually suggest the ECHOGEAR Tilt TV Wall Mount for Large TVs EGLT3 because it includes a wide hardware kit for a low price. it supports up to 125lbs and vesa 600x400. its basically the most cost-effective way to get enough depth for cables without the bulk of expensive mounts.
Hey, I have been mounting Sony sets for years and honestly, the biggest thing people forget is that Sony often offsets their VESA holes towards the bottom of the panel. If you use a cheap generic mount, the TV might sit way higher on the wall than you planned. I usually stick with the Sanus VLF728-B2 Full-Motion Premium Wall Mount for my Bravia installs. It is a total beast and super reliable for those heavier 75 or 85 inch screens. The reason it works so well is the arm depth. It gives you just enough room to reach those side-loading HDMI ports without putting stress on the cables. Plus, the build quality is night and day compared to the bargain bin stuff. You want something that wont sag over time, especially with the weight of a high-end Sony LED. If you are worried about safety, going with a premium brand like Sanus or even the Peerless-AV ST650 SmartMount Universal Tilt Wall Mount is the way to go because their hardware kits are actually rated for the weight and include the proper spacers for those recessed ports.
tbh i was nervous about my bravia falling but the Mounting Dream MD2380 Full Motion TV Wall Mount is super budget-friendly and secure. it handles the side ports perfectly too.
good point about the ports, sony can be a pain with that. i totally agree that getting the clearance right is the hardest part. before i suggest anything else, what is the exact model number of your bravia? some of the newer oleds have very specific vesa placements near the bottom which makes a huge difference for which rails you can actually use.
Just wanted to say thanks for everyone chiming in. Super helpful discussion.
Yep been there done that. Can confirm everything said above is spot on.
