Okay so I just got this new Sony TV and I am literally losing my mind trying to figure out how to put it on the wall. I went to the store and there are like fifty different mounts and I have no idea if they all work or if Sony has some special secret bracket thing. I think mine is a Bravia? Its 65 inches. I tried reading the manual but it talks about VESA patterns and numbers like 300x300 and I honestly have no clue what that even means or how to measure it. Im so scared im gonna buy the wrong one and my expensive TV is just gonna crash onto the floor. I just moved into my place in Austin and I really want this set up before my friends come over for the game on Sunday but im stuck and getting really frustrated.
Requirements for what I need:
Is there like one universal mount that just works for every single Sony model so I dont have to worry about the math? Sorry if this is a really dumb question I just dont want to mess this up...
Coming back to this... I did this last month and it was amazing! Building on the earlier suggestion, I used the Mounting Dream MD2268-LK Tilting TV Wall Mount but Sanus VLT6-B1 Tilting TV Wall Mount is a great alternative tho. VESA is just hole distances... any big mount fits. TL;DR: Get a Mounting Dream MD2268-LK Tilting TV Wall Mount. Use the included spacers for Sony backs and youre golden for the game!
Regarding what #2 said about "Coming back to this... I did this last..."
In my experience, Sony TVs use standard VESA hole spacing, so you dont need a brand-specific mount. For a 65-inch model, the ECHOGEAR Tilting TV Wall Mount EGLT2 is a very reliable choice under $100. It features a wide wall plate that makes finding studs easier and allows for tilting to reduce window glare. Just follow the wall template provided and itll be secure for your watch party on Sunday.
To add to the point above: I disagree its that easy. Even with my experience, im stuck on this same Sony model right now too.
