I am so frustrated right now because I just started this new bootcamp class here in Austin and my current headphones are literally garbage. Every time I do a burpee or jump rope they just fly out of my ears and I'm tired of chasing them across the floor while people are trying to workout around me. I really want to get some good Sony ones because everyone says they are the best but honestly I am so confused looking at their website. There are all these letters and numbers like WH-something and WF-something and I have no idea what any of it means... sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm a total beginner with this stuff and the whole thing is giving me a headache.
I have about $300 saved up and I need to buy them by next Tuesday before my next big challenge starts but I dont know if I should get the big ones that go over my ears or the little tiny ones. Wont the big ones get all sweaty and gross if I'm doing high intensity stuff? But then I'm scared the little ones will just fall out again like my old ones did. I just want something that stays put and sounds good while I'm dying on the treadmill. Which Sony ones are actually made for the gym and wont break if I sweat on them? I'm honestly lost...
Ugh, I totally feel your pain with the naming stuff. Sony makes it way more complicated than it needs to be tbh. WH basically means wireless headband (the big ones) and WF means wireless freedom (the earbuds). Honestly, I've had issues with the big ones like the Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones at the gym before. They were not as good as expected because the ear pads got soaked in sweat and started smelling really gross after a week. Plus they just slide right off your face the second you look down for a burpee... total nightmare. For a bootcamp in Austin heat, you definitely want to skip the over-ear style. You need the little ones (WF) because they can handle moisture better. I was actually pretty disappointed with the fit of the super expensive Sony WF-1000XM5 Noise Cancelling Earbuds too because they felt too heavy and kept loosening up while I was jumping around. Here are the ones that actually work for high intensity stuff:
