I finally got a PS5 but I'm still using my PS4 Pro for older games and my desk is just a mess of cables. I'm trying to find a way to tidy things up.
I looked at the official Sony charging stations but it seems like I would have to buy two separate units which is kinda expensive. I found some third-party ones on Amazon that say they charge both DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers on one stand, but the reviews are so mixed and some people say they're real flimsy. I'm in Seattle and don't really want to spend over $50 on this. Is there actually a good hybrid dock or should I just stick to separate ones?
Honestly, be careful with those hybrid docks tho. Most are super flimsy and might actually damage your controller ports since they dont always align right. I would suggest sticking to separate ones for safety.
I've gone through a dozen different charging setups over the years because my desk used to look like a literal birds nest of cables. Trust me, I've tried those cheap hybrid docks from Amazon and they're almost always a nightmare... one actually scratched the faceplate of my DualSense because the alignment was so bad. If you want to stay under fifty bucks and keep things tidy, I'd honestly skip the hybrid dream and grab two reliable, separate stands.
@Reply #2 - good point! I once used a cheap hybrid dock and it actually melted the plastic on my DS4 port. Total horror story. I would suggest just getting the PowerA DualSense Charging Station for PlayStation 5 and a decent Anker 2-Port 24W Wall Charger with separate cables. Those budget 2-in-1 stands are usually just fire hazards in disguise, definitely not worth the risk.
