I really need to pull the trigger on a new headset like today because my current ones are literally held together by duct tape and I have a long session planned for Saturday. I've been spiraling a bit looking at reviews for the PS5 and I'm getting overwhelmed. My logic was that I should just get the Sony Pulse 3D because it's the official one and I know the 3D audio will just work without any fussing around but then I read some stuff saying they get really uncomfortable after an hour or two and my ears get hot fast. My budget is strictly under $160 because I just spent way too much on games this month. So then I started looking at the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P and I'm torn because they look way more comfy with that ski-band thing but they're right at the edge of my budget. I'm also seeing the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro mentioned a lot but honestly I'm worried the mic quality is gonna be trash for party chat. I live in a noisy apartment in Chicago with a loud roommate so I need something with decent isolation too. Is the Nova 7P really worth the extra $60 over the Pulse 3D? Or is there something else I'm missing that works better with the PS5 haptics and stuff. I just dont want to regret it and have to deal with shipping returns...

If isolation is the main concern, the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro 2023 Edition is actually a decent choice. People complain about the mic on older models but the 2023 version was a big upgrade... it is definitely clear enough for party chat. It has deep ear cups that block out quite a bit of room noise compared to the Sony ones. Another solid bet is the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 3 Wireless. It is well under your 160 budget and the battery life is massive. It works with PS5 3D audio without any lag. Honestly, it feels a bit more plasticky than the <a href=" https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt= SteelSeries&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries, but it gets the job done and leaves you with extra cash. Just avoid the really cheap stuff... they usually have terrible isolation and you will hear everything your roommate is doing.

I would be careful about overspending right now. I once bought a pricey set that felt like a furnace on my head... total nightmare for long sessions. You might want to look at the HyperX Cloud III Wireless 120-hour Battery Life.

  • Sturdy aluminum frame so it wont snap like plastic ones
  • Memory foam is way better for ear heat
  • 120-hour battery means zero charging anxiety

> Is the Nova 7P really worth the extra $60 over the Pulse 3D? Honestly, yeah. The Sony Pulse 3D Wireless Headset feels like a plastic clamp after an hour, so be careful with that one if you have a bigger head. I would suggest spending the extra cash on the <a href=" https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt= SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+7P+Wireless&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless instead. That ski-band suspension is way more comfortable for marathons and might save you a headache. Just make sure to check the sidetone settings right away.
