Ive been shooting with the ZV-1 for a while now but my hand cramps up constantly during longer vlogs. The body is just too tiny to hold stable. Looking for something ergonomic that doesnt block the battery door.

  • Budget under 60 bucks
  • Needs to be lightweight for travel
  • Tripod mount access is a must

Any recommendations that dont add too much bulk?

I feel your pain man, the ZV-1 is super compact but it honestly feels like a bar of soap after twenty minutes of filming. Be careful with some of those cheap plastic grips on sites like Amazon because they can feel kinda flimsy, and you really dont want your camera taking a tumble. I would suggest looking into the SmallRig 2938 L-Bracket for Sony ZV1 because it adds just enough palm support to stop those cramps without making the setup too heavy. It keeps the battery door accessible, which is a lifesaver. Just make sure to tighten the screws properly when you mount it, I always double check mine before heading out. It fits your budget perfectly and honestly makes the whole thing much easier to hold during long vlogs.

Oh man, I totally get it. Hand fatigue is the worst when you are just trying to get the shot! I found that adding a dedicated grip makes a night and day difference for the ZV-1 since that tiny body is just begging for something to hold onto. I have been using the Ulanzi R048 Camera Grip for a few months and it is honestly a game changer for vlogging. Here is why it works so well for my travel setup:

  • Super lightweight, you wont even notice it in your bag
  • Fits perfectly without blocking that annoying battery door
  • The wood grain finish feels amazing and adds a bit of grip friction
  • Costs way under your budget Honestly, if you want something even more versatile that fits your tripod mount requirement, check out the Ulanzi MT-08 Extendable Mini Tripod. It functions as a mini grip when collapsed and gives you that extra reach for vlogging when you pop it open. It is super cheap and I always keep one clipped to my strap when I am out and about. Dont stress too much about the weight, just grab one of these and your hands will definitely thank you later! If you need help figuring out how to mount your mic with these, just hit me up.

Adding my two cents, I bought the SmallRig L-Bracket 2679 a while back and honestly, it was kinda disappointing. The metal is great but it made my setup way heavier than I wanted for travel.

  • The SmallRig ZV1 Camera Cage 2938 is much better imo
  • Keeps the battery door accessible
  • Super solid build quality Check out the SmallRig site, they usually have clearance deals that fit your budget.
