Does anyone actually make a decent screen protector for the RX100 VII that doesnt peel off after two weeks? Im honestly so fed up with my current setup. I swear I wasted like 30 bucks on a pack of tempered glass ones from Amazon and the edges are already lifting like crazy, its driving me nuts.

I carry my camera in my pocket everywhere I go, literally everywhere, and the constant friction is killing the screen. I dont have a huge budget to keep rebuying these things, maybe like 40 bucks total to get a solid case and a screen guard that actually sticks. Im leaving for a trip to Chicago in ten days and I just want something that stays put so I dont come back with a scratched-up sensor or glass.

Does anybody have a brand that actually works for these smaller sony bodies? Maybe something that fits snug so it doesnt catch on my jeans or jacket pocket? I tried one of those bulky leather cases but it made the camera way too big to fit anywhere comfortably. If you have any suggestions that are actually durable please let me know cause im about to just give up on protectors entirely...

Adding my two cents here because I spent way too much time testing stuff for my RX100. If you are keeping it in your pocket, honestly, the glass is gonna keep catching on the fabric. Be really careful with the cheap stuff, it just wont last. I switched to the GGS LARMOR Self-Adhesive Optical Glass Screen Protector and it has held up way better than the generic stuff, plus it is super thin. For the case, since you need something slim that actually fits in a pocket:

  • Case Logic DCB-302 Compact Camera Case is super minimal and keeps the dust out without adding bulk.
  • JOBY GorillaPod 1K Kit is great if you need a tripod, but for a bag, just stick to a small neoprene pouch. Make sure to clean the screen with pure alcohol before applying or nothing will stick. Seriously, don't rush the prep or you will be back to square one in Chicago.

Honestly, stop buying those cheap multi-packs. I use Sony PCK-LG1 Glass Screen Protector for the RX100 series, it never lifts. Pair it with a MegaGear Ever Ready Leather Case.

Just saw this thread. Honestly, the adhesive on those generic multi-packs is trash because the glass isn't milled to account for the RX100's slightly curved edge. I had the same issue until I switched to the Expert Shield Glass Screen Protector for Sony RX100 VII. It uses a proprietary silicone gel layer instead of standard adhesive, so the edges stay flush even with constant pocket friction.

  • The coating is oleophobic which helps with smudges.
  • It's thin enough that it doesn't add bulk. For a case, ditch the leather stuff. It's way too thick for pocket carry. I use the Lowepro Tahoe CS 20 Camera Pouch because it has a tricot-lined interior that prevents micro-scratches. It's slim and keeps the camera safe without acting like a brick in your pocket. Setup like this has lasted me two years without lifting or scratching.
