What is the best eBay price tracking extension right now because honestly Im so fed up with the garbage ones out there that just break every time the site updates. Im trying to track some vintage camera gear in the US before my birthday next month and these tools keep missing price drops or throwing weird errors. What actually works reliably without constantly logging me out...

@Reply #2 - good point! Seriously though, I am dealing with the exact same headache trying to track old film lenses right now. Every single extension I try either crashes or misses the exact second a price drops on a good body. It drives me nuts! Ngl, I gave up on most browser plugins entirely because they kept logging me out during bidding wars. Instead I've been using standalone price history sites that dont rely on keeping an extension active. Honestly saves so much frustration when youre hunting for vintage gear on a deadline.

In my experience tracking vintage gear over the years, most browser extensions are absolute garbage like you said. They break constantly and miss the best deals. Before I recommend the ones that actually stay stable, I need to know a couple things about your setup:

  • Are you mostly searching sold listings or trying to snipe live auctions?
  • Do you care about cross-platform tracking like Mercari or just eBay US? Let me know and I can point you toward something that wont log you out every five minutes.

Late to the party here, but I totally get being paranoid about random browser extensions breaking or messing with your account. When I was hunting for gear on a tight budget last month, I got super nervous about safety. Make sure to check permissions carefully before installing anything weird.

  • watch out for extensions that demand full account access
  • stick to simple tools that just read the page I actually switched to using this eBay price tracker because it feels way more secure than the sketchy alternatives. Hope you find that vintage camera without getting scammed!
