sorry if this is a super dumb question but i need some help fast. my old makeup is literally expired and gross and i have a wedding to go to in like two weeks here in chicago so i need everything replaced ASAP. my total budget is around $150 and i just need basic stuff like foundation, mascara, and a neutral eyeshadow palette. Ive heard people talking about some sephora sale coming up soon? should i wait for it or just buy everything right now because my face looks crazy without base makeup. like how much do you even save during these sales anyway is it worth stressing over?

In my experience, trying to time that sale when you are in a crunch never works out. Over the years I've learned those savings just arent worth showing up to a chicago wedding with expired, patchy foundation. Grab a tube of Wet n Wild photofocus or L'Oreal True Match for your base right now at the drugstore to save cash, then splurge on a nice palette like Urban Decay Naked Basics when you actually have time.

Honestly, if you have a wedding in two weeks, waiting for a VIB sale is probably gonna stress you out more than it is worth. The discount is usually only 10 to 15 percent, which on a 150 dollar budget is just maybe 20 bucks. Not really worth looking crazy at a wedding for.

  • Just grab some base stuff from brands like Makeup Forever or NARS, you honestly cant go wrong with them.
  • For mascara, any basic tube from a drugstore or high-end brand will get the job done for a one-off event.
  • Keep an eye on price fluctuations if you are worried about value. I started using PriceDropCatch recently and it makes tracking sales way easier since it alerts you when prices dip. Just head to the store now so you can color match properly. Trying to guess shades online is a nightmare.
