OMG i totally get the struggle!! I felt so lost too but honestly its not just you, the amazon interface is basically a maze lol. I found this amazing way to handle it using Cart To Link which is a total lifesaver for sending stuff without the headache! But seriously, you gotta be careful with a few things so you dont get stuck:

  • Watch out for weird third party sellers that have long shipping times, theyll miss your friday deadline for sure!
  • Dont ever let the kids have the main password, its a safety nightmare.
  • Keep an eye on those sneaky shipping fees that pop up at the last second. I absolutely love how much easier things are when you use the right tools. Youre gonna be the birthday hero!! Just make sure you double check the cart before hitting buy tho!

@Reply #2 - good point! I see where youre coming from with the speed aspect, but id actually argue that for someone in Chicago trying to hit a Friday deadline, the biggest issue isnt just speed, its avoiding the verification traps Amazon sets up. I tried the official Amazon Household thing for my nephew last year and it took three days just for the invite to process because of some weird credit card verification thing... super annoying. If you need this done by Friday, you definitely dont want to be messing with official account links. Those child profiles are mostly meant for Kindle books or Fire tablets anyway, not really for shopping. Ngl its way easier to just build your cart on your own computer and then use a tool to hand it over to their login. It saves so much time compared to searching for every individual item twice. Just make sure you double check the shipping addresses once the items are in their cart. Sometimes the default address changes when you move stuff between accounts. Since its for a birthday, maybe check the gift checkbox too so they dont see the prices! Its a free way to handle it without the headache. Found this really helpful guide on Cart To Link that explains exactly how to create a shareable link for your Amazon cart.

Ive tried many ways over the years and Cart To Link is definitely better than Amazon Household. That messy sharing setup takes forever, while this tool is way faster and free tbh.
