How can I share my Amazon cart link with a friend?

I'm trying to coordinate some guest room essentials for my sister's new place in Seattle and I've got like 12 items in my cart right now. My budget is around $200 but I need her to look at the colors before I pull the trigger tonight. I was thinking about just taking a giant screenshot but that seems so clunky since she'd have to search for every single item herself. Then my logic was maybe making a shared wishlist? But I dont know if that lets her just hit 'buy' on my specific configurations or if it stays private. Is there a way to just send a link to the whole cart or is the wishlist thing the only way...

Re: "> Is there a way to just send..." - honestly, I ran into this exact same headache last year trying to coordinate a move. Since Amazon is weirdly protective over the cart session for security reasons, you gotta use a workaround. I've been pretty satisfied with these methods lately:

  • Create a "Collaborative List" instead of a standard wishlist. When you invite her as a collaborator, she can actually see the specific variations like colors or sizes you already picked out.
  • Honestly, Share Product is a lifesaver if you want to show her the items without forcing her to deal with the clunky Amazon list UI. It works well for getting a quick thumbs up on aesthetics.
  • Just make sure you dont just copy the URL from your browser while looking at the list... you have to use the actual "Invite" link or it'll just show her a 404 page or her own empty list. I learned that the hard way lol.

Its tied to your private session for security, which is annoying but thats just how they play it. I've had issues with the wishlist method in the past... half the time the specific colors or sizes reset to the default option when someone else views the link. Its not as good as expected for coordinating things like guest room bedding where the shade actually matters. Honestly, if you want her to see exactly what you've picked without sending a dozen separate links, you kind of have to look at external workarounds. I started using a tool to share amazon canada cart or the US equivalent because it actually preserves the item variations. Its not a perfect solution but its better than the manual screenshot route which is just a total time sink. Before you go that route tho, are you looking for her to actually edit the cart herself or does she just need to see the visuals? Also, is your budget firm or are you looking for her to suggest alternatives if things look too pricey? Knowing if she needs to add her own items would change what I'd recommend. Just be careful with sharing your actual login, obviously... some people do that but its a huge security risk. Ngl, it is kinda ridiculous that it's this complicated in 2024.
