Hey everyone! I just picked up a 65-inch Sony Bravia and I am looking for advice on the best wall mount. I am a bit nervous about the weight since it is a pretty big investment, and I want to make sure it is completely secure. My living room layout is a bit awkward, so I am torn between a low-profile fixed mount for that flush look or a full-motion swivel one to handle glare from the side windows.

Does anyone know if Sony has specific VESA requirements or if there are certain brands like Sanus or Echogear that work better with their back panel design? I would also love to hear about your experiences with cable management for this model. What specific mount would you recommend for this setup?

Sooo, in my experience, mounting a 65-inch Sony is actually pretty straightforward, but you gotta be careful with the back panel design because Sony loves their weirdly recessed holes. Honestly, I've been doing this for like ten years now and I've seen people mess up because they dont use the specific stand-off spacers that usually come in the TV box... so check for those first!! Since you mentioned glare and an awkward layout, I would suggest going with a full-motion mount rather than low-profile. The flush look is cool, but being able to tilt the screen away from those side windows is a literal lifesaver for daytime viewing. Here's what I recommend:

  • Sanus VLF728-B2 Full-Motion Wall Mount is basically the gold standard if you want something that feels super secure and moves like butter.
  • Echogear Full Motion Articulating TV Wall Mount EGLF2 is a great alternative that's really sturdy and has plenty of room for cables.
  • Make sure you check the VESA pattern, which is usually 300x300 for that size, but some Bravias use M6 or M8 bolts of specific lengths. I mean, you really wanna make sure you hit the center of the studs with a 65-inch. It's a heavy investment, literally. Also, for cable management, I usually just run everything through the wall with a Legrand
  • Wiremold In-Wall TV Power and Cable Management Kit to keep it looking clean. I think that's basically all you need to know? Anyway, gl!

honestly, i totally get the nerves about hanging a big investment like that!! i have a 65 inch bravia myself and was super worried about the weight at first. for your situation, i think going with a full motion option is the move because glare is literally the worst. i ended up using the Mounting Dream MD2380 TV Wall Mount and im so satisfied with it... it is basically half the price of those big name brands but feels super solid. the main thing to remember is that sony usually includes these special spacer bolts in the box. if you use those, you wont have any issues with the recessed holes. for cables, i just used some VELCRO Brand ONE-WRAP Cable Ties to keep it tidy. it is not as fancy as in-wall kits but it works well and saved me some cash. its definitely a solid budget-friendly way to go and your gonna love the view. gl!

> Does anyone know if Sony has specific VESA requirements or if there are certain brands like Sanus or Echogear that work better Unfortunately, I had issues with basic mounts before cuz of Sony's weirdly recessed holes. It's not as good as expected when the spacers dont fit right! For your 65-inch, I would suggest the Sanus Elite Advanced Tilt 4D Wall Mount. It gives you that flush look but still handles glare pretty well. Basically, it's a solid middle ground between fixed and full-motion... gl!
