I just picked up a Sony Bravia for my PS5, and I want to make sure I’m getting the best experience possible. I'm looking for must-have accessories like high-speed HDMI 2.1 cables or specific soundbars that sync well with Bravia XR features. Does anyone have recommendations for essential gear to complete this setup?

TL;DR from this thread: basically don't overpay for fancy cables, but matching Sony gear saves u a massive headache. Honestly, I'm super happy with the Sony HT-S400 Soundbar cuz it’s reliable and way cheaper than the high-end units. Also, just grab a Ugreen 8K HDMI 2.1 Cable... it’s literally all u need for 4K/120Hz. Better safe than sorry ngl! 👍

Seconding the recommendation above. I've been a Sony guy for like fifteen years now and honestly, matching the ecosystem is usually the safest bet. I remember when I first got my XR-series, I tried using a generic soundbar and the handshake issues were a nightmare... i ended up returning it and got the Sony HT-A5000 5.1.2ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar. It’s SO much better because of the Acoustic Center Sync—it basically turns your TV speakers into the center channel for clearer dialogue. Ngl, it's a game changer. Also, if you’re worried about storage, grab the Western Digital WD_BLACK 1TB SN850 NVMe SSD with Heatsink. I’ve had one in my PS5 for a while and it's rock solid. Just make sure to check your HDMI ports! Port 3 and 4 are usually the only ones that support full 4K/120Hz on those Bravias. I learned that after wondering why my games looked choppy for a week lol. good luck!

oh man, congrats on the new setup!! i remember when i first got my Bravia a few years back... i literally spent like eighty bucks on a 'premium' cable cuz i thought it was special for Sony TVs. spoiler alert: it wasnt!! lol. i learned the hard way that you dont gotta spend a fortune for a top-tier experience. Here's what I recommend for a budget-friendly but high-end feel: • For cables, i HIGHKEY suggest the Zeskit Maya 8K 48Gbps Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable 6.5ft. it supports all the 4K/120Hz stuff for like $20.
• For sound, look at the Sony HT-S400 2.1ch Soundbar with Powerful Wireless Subwoofer. It’s usually around $250-$299 and syncs perfectly with Bravia features.
• Also, grab a NexiGo PS5 Controller Charging Dock for like twenty-five dollars to keep everything charged and tidy. Basically, dont let the marketing hype trick you into overspending on 'official' gear when cheaper stuff works just as well. gl!
