What are the best soundbars for a Sony Bravia TV?

I finally pulled the trigger on a 65 inch Sony Bravia X90L for my apartment here in Chicago and the picture is killer but the speakers are kind of tinny which I guess is expected these days. I've been doing a bit of digging online and everyone keeps pointing towards the Sony HT-A5000 or the A7000 because they have that Acoustic Center Sync thing where the TV speakers work with the soundbar to make the dialogue clearer.

The thing is I also keep seeing people rave about the Sonos Arc or even the Samsung Q990C saying they sound way more immersive for the same price or even less. I'm trying to stay under a budget of $1000 and I'd really like to get this set up before the NFL season kicks off next month. I'm just torn on whether staying in the Sony ecosystem actually makes a noticeable difference or if I'm just paying a premium for a proprietary feature that doesn't really do much in a real world setting. Some forum posts say the center sync makes the voices sound weird while others say its a game changer so I'm just stuck.

Does anyone here have a Bravia paired with a non-Sony bar and do you regret not having that integration or should I just stick with a Sony brand bar to keep things simple?

Honestly, I had issues with Center Sync... it made dialogue sound thin and weirdly localized to the screen. It was not as good as expected for the price. Unfortunately, Sony bars are pretty overpriced. I swapped to the Samsung HW-Q990C 11.1.4 Channel Soundbar and the immersion is night and day. Check the technical breakdowns on Rtings. The Vizio Elevate 5.1.4 Home Theater Soundbar is another solid alternative that actually includes rear speakers within your budget.

I went through this exact same internal debate when I got my Bravia last year. Honestly, I am super satisfied with staying in the Sony ecosystem. The biggest win isnt just the sound quality, though the Sony HT-A5000 5.1.2ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar sounds fantastic, it is the sheer convenience. When you plug it into an X90L, the soundbar settings actually show up right in the TV Quick Settings menu. No more hunting for a second remote or opening an app just to tweak the subwoofer level or voice mode during a game. Regarding the Acoustic Center Sync... I know it gets mixed reviews, but in my experience, it works well if you take the time to run the Sound Field Optimization. It makes the dialogue feel like its coming from the actors faces rather than from a box sitting below the screen. It adds that extra layer of immersion that a Sonos Arc Wireless Dolby Atmos Soundbar just cant do because it cant talk to the Sony hardware the same way. Plus, the HDMI-CEC handshake between two Sony devices is basically flawless. I havent had a single audio dropout moment since I set it up. Its just a rock-solid, professional-feeling setup that keeps things clean and effective. TLDR: Stick with the Sony HT-A5000 5.1.2ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar for your X90L. The software integration and center sync feature provide a cohesive experience that third-party bars simply cannot match in a Bravia ecosystem.

I've been really happy with the Sony HT-A3000 3.1ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar and it honestly hits the sweet spot. My tip? Skip the flagship bars and put that extra cash toward the Sony SA-RS3S Wireless Rear Speakers instead. Having actual surround sound for football is a massive upgrade over any fancy processing. It works great and I dont have any complaints, plus the setup is super simple.
