Best wall mount options for large Sony LED TVs?

I need to figure out which wall mount is actually the best for a 75-inch Sony X90L because I am seriously paranoid about this thing falling. I finally upgraded my old 55-inch and this new Sony is a beast, I think it weighs like 80 pounds without the stand and I'm staring at my drywall in my Denver apartment wondering if it can even handle it. I spent way too much on this TV to have it end up in pieces on the floor.

I did some digging online and everyone keeps pointing towards the Sanus Elite Advanced Tilt which looks solid and I like that you can slide it side to side if you dont hit the studs perfectly centered. But then I started reading some forum threads where people were complaining that Sony puts their VESA mounting holes really low on the back of the panel compared to Samsung or LG. If that is true, wouldnt a standard mount make the TV sit way higher than I planned? I already measured out exactly where I want it to be so I dont want to be surprised by it sitting six inches too high or having the brackets peek out from the bottom.

Then there is that official Sony SU-WL855 mount which is super expensive, like over 200 bucks. I read that it lets the TV sit really flush to the wall and even swivels, but is that really necessary for an LED? Some people say it only works well with the OLED models and I dont want to spend double the money just for a logo if a $100 Sanus or even a Monoprice mount would do the same thing. My living room gets a lot of glare from the side window in the afternoon so I definitely need some tilt or swivel functionality to deal with that.

My budget is ideally under $150 but honestly I'll pay more if it means I dont have to worry about the TV sagging over time. I need to get this done by next Sunday because I am hosting a watch party and I really dont want the TV just sitting on its legs on a tiny coffee table. Has anyone here mounted one of these bigger Sony LEDs recently? I am just looking for something that wont give me a headache during the install process...

Saw this earlier, just now responding. Are you working with wood or metal studs in that apartment? Newer Denver builds often use metal, which is a massive safety risk for a 75-inch Sony if you use standard lag bolts.

@Reply #1 - good point! Sony VESA holes are weirdly low. Use the Echogear Full Motion TV Wall Mount EGLF3 because those brackets have extra holes so you wont have that height gap issue.

I went through this exact same headache with my X90H a few years ago. I remember standing there with the drill in my hand, sweating because I was convinced the whole wall would just crumble. The X90L is a beast, but as long as you are hitting two studs with the lag bolts, it really isnt going anywhere. The VESA hole placement on these Sonys is definitely weird. They sit way lower on the back than a Samsung, which usually means the TV sits higher on the wall if you use the standard center-point measurements. You basically have to mount your wall plate about 4 to 6 inches lower than you think to compensate. If you dont, your neck is gonna hate you after a week.

This is usually my top pick for heavy LEDs. I used it for a 75-inch setup last summer and the 4D tilt actually lets you pull the TV away from the wall a bit to get to the cables without taking the whole thing down. It handles the weight easily and the side-to-side sliding is a lifesaver for centering.

I have installed a few of these too. They are incredibly well-made and the swivel is butter, but for a thicker LED model like yours, you lose some of that ultra-slim benefit. Tbh, it feels like it was designed more for the paper-thin OLEDs. It is a decent option if you have money to burn, but not strictly necessary for an X90L.

If you want to stay under budget, this thing is a tank. It is a bit clunky to install compared to the Sanus, but it holds 80lbs like it is nothing and wont sag over time. Ngl, I would stick with the Sanus. It gives you the tilt you need for that Denver afternoon glare and the build quality is way better than the cheap generic stuff.

TL;DR: The Mounting Dream MD2380-24 Full Motion TV Mount is a reliable, cost-effective solution for heavy panels. ^ This. Also, you should measure the distance from the bottom VESA hole to the bottom edge of the Sony frame. Use that offset when positioning your wall plate to avoid the height issue. It is rated for 100 lbs and the steel is thick enough that sagging is not an issue, tbh, if you hit studs.
