Just got my hands on the new a7R VI and I am seriously blown away by the sensor performance. I have been shooting Sony mirrorless since the original a7R days but this new screen seems a bit more prone to smudges than the last one. I am heading to Iceland in two weeks for a landscape trip and really dont want to scratch the back display while hiking. Also the stock strap is honestly kinda garbage for carrying a heavy 70-200mm lens around all day. Does anyone have solid recommendations for a glass screen protector that actually fits and maybe a comfortable shoulder strap that wont break the bank? Looking to spend maybe under 60 bucks total...

Honestly, the Expert Shield Glass Screen Protector is much better than the stock film. For your setup, the BlackRapid Sport Breathe Camera Strap is way more comfortable during long hikes.

Man, honestly, the stock strap is such a pain. I tried using it with a heavy lens and my neck was killing me by lunch. Since you want to keep costs down, you should totally check out these:

  • The Larmor Optical Glass Screen Protector is solid. It attaches via magnets so it doesnt leave any gross residue if you mess up the install. Way cheaper than those fancy proprietary ones.
  • For a strap, look at the Caden Shoulder Strap Quick Release. It is super budget-friendly and honestly does the job just as well as the expensive brands for hiking. Unfortunately, finding gear that feels premium under 60 bucks is tough, but this setup works. Just be careful with the magnets near your cards, though I havent had issues personally. Good luck in Iceland, its gonna be epic!

Grab a Sony PCK-LG1 Screen Protect Glass Sheet for the display. For hiking, the Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap is super comfy and wont break the bank.
