Hey everyone, I finally managed to snag a PS5 Pro recently and I am absolutely loving the performance boost so far. However, I am still using an old pair of wired earbuds plugged into the controller, and I feel like I am totally missing out on the immersive experience. I really want to upgrade to a solid wireless headset that takes full advantage of the Tempest 3D Audio tech that Sony keeps talking about.
I have been looking at a few different options online but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the conflicting reviews. I usually play for three or four hours at a time, so comfort is a huge deal for me since I wear glasses and some headsets tend to pinch after an hour. I am specifically looking for something that hits these points:
I have seen people mention the Sony Pulse Elite and the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P, but I am not sure if one is significantly better for the Pro model specifically. Does anyone have hands-on experience with these? I want something that feels premium and actually makes a difference in competitive games where hearing footsteps is life or death. What are the best wireless headsets for PS5 and PS5 Pro right now in your opinion?
If you want the absolute best audio quality on the Pro, you gotta look at the Audeze Maxwell Wireless Gaming Headset for PlayStation. It uses planar magnetic drivers which are way better than the standard dynamic ones in most headsets. The soundstage is incredible for 3D audio and the 80-hour battery life is basically unmatched. It is a bit heavier, but the suspension strap really helps with glasses comfort.
Yo, congrats on the Pro! Honestly, you dont need to drop a fortune to get that 3D audio experience. I wear glasses too and the struggle with clamping force is real. If you want the best bang for your buck, I really recommend checking out the HyperX Cloud III Wireless Gaming Headset. The battery life is actually insane, like up to 120 hours, so you basically never have to charge it. It fits way better over glasses than the Pulse Elite imo because the cushions are much softer. If you are looking for something that still feels premium but goes on sale often, look for the SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+7P+Wireless&linkCode=osi&tag=5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless. It has that ski-goggle headband which is a lifesaver for long sessions. The 3D audio works perfectly on both. Tbh, spending more than 150 bucks starts to feel like diminishing returns for most of us. Hope that helps you save some cash for actual games!
tbh ive been through like five different sets this year trying to find the perfect one for my Pro and i am finally satisfied with my setup. honestly if you want the most reliable info you should just check out reddit or youtube... there is this one really detailed comparison video if you search for ps5 pro wireless headset showdown 2024. it goes deep into the latency and battery stuff you mentioned and its way more thorough than a forum post can be. i followed their advice and im super happy with how everything works now. definitely check the manufacturer sites too for their official pro compatibility lists because they usually update those with the latest firmware info for the new console. just google that and youll find the direct links pretty fast, saves a lot of time compared to reading conflicting reviews.
Just found this thread and it brings back memories of when I first got my console. I was so cheap that I tried to rig up some old office headset using a generic Bluetooth dongle I found in a junk drawer. Honestly, it was a total nightmare lol. My cat ended up chewing the receiver right as I was about to win a match... had to spend the whole weekend soldering it back together. Total mess.
