What are the must-have accessories for the Sony RX100 VII?

I just picked up the Sony RX100 VII for my upcoming travels, but the body feels a bit slick! I’m already looking at the SmallRig grip and extra NP-BX1 batteries since the life seems short. Are there any other essentials like specific filters or a must-have case you'd recommend to round out the kit?

In my experience, the RX100 VII is a beast but yeah, it's like holding a bar of soap lol. You're definitely on the right track with the batteries since that Sony NP-BX1 Rechargeable Battery Pack only has a 1240mAh capacity, which honestly drains realy fast when shooting 4K or using the high-refresh EVF. Since the VII actually dropped the built-in ND filter found in the older VA model, I really recommend these:
* MagFilter Threaded Adapter 52mm - it's magnetic so you can pop on a Hoya 52mm Variable ND Filter for bright days.
* Sony PCK-LG1 Screen Protector - the screen glass is pretty fragile, so this is a must-have tbh.
* Peak Design Cuff Camera Wrist Strap - much more secure than the stock one. That setup basically solves the handling and exposure issues without ruining the pocketability. It's a pretty sweet kit for street stuff tho. Are you gonna be doing much vlogging with it or just stills?? anyway, gl with the new gear! peace

Late to the party, but are ur plans mostly 4K video? Tbh, in-camera charging is unreliable... get a Wasabi Power Dual USB Charger for Sony NP-BX1 to save cash and ur port.

Honestly, I've gone through a dozen compacts over the years and the biggest mistake I see people make is thinking a fancy case protects the lens mechanism. Those telescoping barrels are incredibly fragile... I once had a tiny speck of sand get into the drive gears while I was at the beach and it basically bricked the camera until I paid for a full teardown. Dont waste cash on those expensive leather half-cases that just look pretty. They add bulk but dont actually stop the lens from jamming if you take a tumble. Just get a simple, cheap neoprene pouch you can toss in your bag. Also, watch out with those stick-on rubber grips if youre traveling somewhere humid. I've seen the adhesive fail and turn into a sticky nightmare after a few days in the sun, which makes the slick body even harder to hold. If youre gonna get a grip, find one that screws into the tripod mount so it doesnt just slide off when your hands get sweaty. Its way more secure and usually cheaper than the branded stuff anyway.
