Hey everyone! I’ve recently updated my kit and I’m now splitting my time between the Sony a6700 and the FX30. While both cameras have decent internal stabilization, I’m really struggling to get those buttery smooth cinematic shots, especially when I’m moving around for travel vlogs. I usually have a cage on the FX30 and occasionally use slightly heavier glass like the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8, so I need something that can handle the weight without being a total beast to carry around.

I’ve been eyeing the DJI RS 3 Mini because it’s so compact, but I’m a bit nervous about whether it can comfortably balance the FX30 with a top handle or a mic attached. I also looked into the Zhiyun Weebill 3S, which seems powerful, but I’m worried about the setup time when switching between the two bodies. Since I often shoot solo, I really need something that won't give me a headache to calibrate on the fly. My budget is around $400, but I’m willing to stretch it if it’s genuinely worth the extra investment.

For those of you using this dual-camera setup, which gimbal has been the most reliable for you in terms of balance and ease of use?

I would suggest being careful with the DJI RS 3 Mini cuz a caged FX30 often hits the back motor during tilt. Instead, the DJI RS 3 is better because its automated locks make switching between bodies SO much faster than the Zhiyun Weebill 3S. It handles the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary glass EASY without stressing the motors, right? Definitely worth the stretch! peace

Basically, motor torque isn't just about weight; it's about physical clearance so the camera doesn't hit the back arm. If the arm's too short, you'll literally stress the motors and get vibrations!! Honestly, the Hohem iSteady MT2 Kit Camera Gimbal is a total hidden gem for your budget.

* Fast quick-release for swapping.
* Solid payload for that Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary for Sony E.

Actually, it’s amazing value for travel vlogs! Good luck!

Hmm, I've had a different experience! Instead of the bulky DJI RS 3 Gimbal Stabilizer, you should actually look at the Feiyu SCORP-2 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer. Its built-in underslung grip makes balancing a caged Sony FX30 Cinema Line Camera way easier, and it handles the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Sony E weight effortlessly. Honestly, the integrated AI tracking is a total game changer when youre shooting solo. Definitely worth it!! 👍
