Is the Sony FX30 gonna go on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026? Im in the US with about a 1500 dollar budget to finally start making YouTube vlogs. Sorry if this is a totally obvious thing to know, but Ive never bought a real camera before and I keep getting confused by all the bundle deals and prices changing...

Before buying, compare the current offers with past prices—and check whether a body-only deal or a lens kit makes more sense for your budget.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals now live at  B&H Photo Video, Adorama.

Like someone mentioned, holiday sales can be tricky. Market analysis shows that Sony rarely drops their cinema line bodies below standard pricing without attaching inflated accessories that drive up the total cost. Unfortunately, many first-time buyers get trapped by third-party retailers bundling unusable microphones and cheap SD cards to make the discount look bigger than it actually is. Since your budget sits right at fifteen hundred dollars, you should look closely at market alternatives instead of waiting blindly for a price cut that might not happen on the exact model you want.

  • Check out the Fujifilm X-S20 Mirrorless Camera Body for incredible out-of-the-box color science and open-gate recording without needing external gear.
  • Compare prices using historical tracking tools like CamelCamelCamel before pulling the trigger on any holiday listing.
  • Read through forums on DPReview for user-reported sensor performance data before deciding on a final system. Avoid generic kit lenses if you decide to stretch the budget, and prioritize glass that handles low-light environments better. Staying methodical about your research saves a ton of buyer's remorse later.

Honestly its pretty likely youll see some price drops around the holidays. With a 1.5k budget, buying body-only during a sale is your safest bet for quality gear.

  • Check authorized dealers like B&H or Sony FX30 Cinema Line Camera base kits.
  • Watch out for inflated third-party bundles with cheap accessories. Take your time and stick with reputable shops so you dont get burned on warranty stuff.

Coming back to this... ngl, buying your first real rig is super stressful. Over the years Ive made every gear mistake in the book. When I grabbed my current setup, I fell for all the shady bundle traps too.

  • What kind of vlogs are you filming?
  • Are you mostly inside a studio or out on the move? Knowing your style helps so much more than just throwing specs around.

Re: "Seconded!"

  • Oh man this whole thread is giving me flashbacks to when my cousin tried buying his first setup during a weird winter freeze in Chicago. The battery literally died in five minutes because of the brutal sub-zero wind chill while he was filming outside!
  • Gear acting up in freezing weather
  • Ice forming on cheap lenses
  • Complete nightmare What kind of vlogs are you even planning to shoot outside in the cold anyway?

> holiday sales can be tricky Spot on. Watch out for sketchy third-party listings that pad the checkout total with useless filters and slow memory cards. Sensor dust issues and grey market imports are huge risks during holiday clearance events too since unauthorized sellers unload international stock without valid US warranties. Stick to authorized retailers so you actually get the factory warranty covered. Check the shutter count and return policies carefully if you end up looking at open-box units to stretch that fifteen hundred dollar limit.

Seconded!

Honestly buying gear now is such a scam with all these sneaky restocking fees and voided warranties from dodgy holiday sellers. Drives me crazy.

Re: "^ This. Also, make sure you pay close..."

  • Honestly trying to factor in fuel efficiency and driving all over town just to find a camera shop that actually has gear in stock drives me nuts. Everyone burns through so much gas chasing holiday discounts only to find empty shelves.
  • Are you planning to drive around to physical stores or just order online?
  • Do you even have a reliable spot nearby that carries this stuff?

Nice, didn't know that

Just catching up on this thread. Honestly your 1500 dollar budget is totally doable if you shop smart. Skip the crazy bundles and grab something like the Sony Alpha ZV-E10 II APS-C Interchangeable Lens Camera instead if you want to save some cash for a decent lens. Over the years Ive learned that a good microphone matters way more than fancy camera bodies anyway for YouTube vlogs.

^ This. Also, make sure you pay close attention to the sensor cleaning mechanisms and weather sealing ratings if you plan on shooting outdoors. I would suggest adding a Sony Alpha 6700 Mirrorless Camera Body to your comparison list since it shares the same sensor and processing engine as the FX30, but includes mechanical shutter curtains and advanced AI subject tracking features that might better suit a vlogger's workflow.
