I'm looking for a super portable tripod for my Sony a6400 and a6700. I mostly do landscape shots while hiking, so weight and folded length are my biggest concerns. Does anyone have a carbon fiber recommendation that’s steady enough for long exposures but fits easily in a backpack? What are you all using?

I'd suggest the Ulanzi & COMAN Zero Y Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod. It's way more cost-effective than the Peak Design Travel Tripod Carbon Fiber and seriously steady for long exposures, you know?

Had a moment to think... what's ur heaviest lens? Thin carbon legs are disappointing for stability tbh. Is the Sirui AM-225 Carbon Fiber Tripod in ur budget? It's solid for only $150.

Hmm, I've had a different experience. Before you drop cash on those big carbon legs, I gotta ask: how tall do you actually need this thing to be?? Do you need eye-level height, or would a mini/tabletop style from a brand like Manfrotto work for ur long exposures? In my experience, you'd save sooo much money and weight basically... idk if that fits ur hiking style tho? gl!!

Can vouch for this

Just saw this thread and totally agree with the point about height vs weight. Honestly, if youre doing serious landscapes with the a6700, you definately want something that can handle a breeze without shaking. I did a ton of market research on this lately and basically narrowed it down to the Leofoto LS-224C Ranger Series Carbon Fiber Tripod. It's wierdly light but feels way more premium than the super cheap budget brands. Leofoto is reallyyy killing it right now by making Gitzo-style legs without the $800 price tag. Another one to check out is the Benro MeFoto RoadTrip Pro Carbon Fiber. It's around $250 and has a really clever design where the legs fold 180 degrees. Tbh the market is so flooded with these clones right now, but those two brands generally have better quality control than the random Amazon brands. Just make sure the ball head is solid because thats usually where these travel kits fail first. gl with the hiking!!
