Is there any great deals on Sony lenses at Amazon Prime Day 2025? Planning to get several Sony FE lenses for my Sony a7IV.

Jumping in here because I went through the same thing last year. When I first got my a7IV I was obsessed with getting a bunch of prime lenses because everyone said they were sharper, but I realized I was spending way too much money on stuff I had to keep switching out. I ended up returning a few and just grabbed the Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS during a sale. Honestly, for a beginner or even someone just looking for cost-effectiveness, one high-quality zoom is way better than three cheap lenses that you might not even use. It covers almost everything I need for travel and street stuff. My advice for Prime Day is to look for the specific Sony deals. Sometimes they bundle the Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 for basically nothing, which is a great budget option if you really want that blurry background look without breaking the bank. Just make sure you check the price history on a tracker site first because Amazon likes to inflate the original price right before the sale starts... it happens way more than people think.

Honestly I am still pretty new to all this but I had a bit of a rough experience last time a big sale came around. I got so excited about the discounts that I ended up grabbing a lens that just sits on my shelf now because I didnt really think about my actual needs. I basically just saw a big red discount tag and went for it without checking if the price was actually lower than usual. It taught me to be way more careful with my budget and really plan out what I actually need for my current setup. What kind of subjects are you usually shooting with your camera? I mean are you doing mostly travel stuff or maybe more low light things? Knowing what you want to focus on and what your total budget is would definitely help because it is so easy to go overboard when you see multiple things on sale at the same time.
