Hey everyone! I’m finally looking to upgrade my audio setup, but I’m in a bit of a transition phase. I still play a lot of my older library on my PS4 Pro in the bedroom, but I’ve got my PS5 hooked up in the living room for all the new exclusives. I’m really looking for a single wireless headset that can handle both consoles seamlessly so I don't have to buy two separate pairs.
I’ve been looking at the official Pulse 3D headset and a few of the SteelSeries Arctis models, but I’m a bit confused about the compatibility. I’m specifically wondering how easy it is to swap the USB dongle back and forth between the consoles—is it just plug-and-play? Also, it's important to me that the 3D audio features on the PS5 aren't compromised just because the headset also supports the older PS4 hardware. Comfort is another big factor since I usually play for 3 or 4 hours at a time, and I'd like to stay around the $150 price range.
Has anyone here found a headset that maintains a rock-solid connection and great mic quality on both systems? I’d love to know which model you think offers the best balance of features for both generations!
For ur situation, I’d check these out. The Sony Pulse 3D Wireless Headset has the best native system integration, but it’s kinda uncomfortable for long sessions. - Pulse 3D: Native UI support, but mid earcups.
- SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+7P+Wireless&linkCode=osi&tag=5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless: Way better for 4-hour grinds + dual-wireless (Bluetooth + 2.4GHz). Both use USB dongles, so swapping is literally seamless. tbh, the Nova is worth it! Which one matters more to u?
+1 to what was said earlier! honestly though, the HyperX Cloud III Wireless is a better value pick for around $130. I was reallyyy disappointed with the build quality on the Sony Pulse 3D Wireless Headset—it felt kinda cheap tbh... But the HyperX has 120-hour battery life and is sooo comfy for 4hr grinds. Just plug the dongle into either console and it works perfectly without losing that PS5 3D audio feel!!
Console ports vary, making swapping tricky. The SteelSeries+Arctis+7P%2B+Wireless&linkCode=osi&tag=5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ Wireless solves this: * Plug-and-play USB-C
* Seamless 3D audio Its honestly perfect for switching between consoles! so good lol
