I've been a playstation guy since the ps2 era so I usually just stick to the basic usb cable but the ps5 dualsense controllers are finally making me want a dock. I just moved into a new place and my media console is way more cramped now so cables hanging out the front looks like absolute trash plus my cheapo third-party charger is making this weird buzzing sound when I dock them.
I need something that actually uses the click-in charging port on the bottom instead of the usb-c on top. Im looking to spend maybe 40 bucks max and want to grab it this weekend. What are the actually good docks that dont feel like cheap plastic?
Honestly, just get the official one. I have been super happy with mine for over a year now and it never lets me down.
I have tried many of these and most fail because of poor voltage ripple. I finally settled on the NexiGo PS5 Controller Charging Dock with 3H Fast Charging for my media room. Tbh it uses the bottom click-in pins and the build quality is surprisingly dense for the price. It handles a 5V/3A input without any of that annoying buzzing you mentioned. Usually runs about 20 bucks online.
I totally feel your pain on the buzzing sound. Buying a generic dock from a random brand on Amazon last year was a total nightmare... unfortunately, it was so light it would literally lift off the shelf when I tried to grab a controller. Plus the coil whine was driving me crazy at night while I was trying to sleep. Ngl, it is surprisingly hard to find third-party stuff that doesnt feel like a cheap toy once you get it home. Dealing with three different brands before finding something that worked was a massive headache. Since you want that click-in feel without the buzzing, here are the ones that didnt let me down:
