Hey everyone! I recently upgraded to the PS5 Pro, and my setup is looking a bit cluttered with USB cables everywhere. I’m looking for a solid charging dock that can handle both my standard DualSense and my Edge controller. I’ve been looking at the official Sony station, but I’m curious if there are third-party options with a sleeker design or maybe faster charging speeds. I really want something with a reliable 'click-in' feel so I’m not struggling to align the pins in the dark. Does anyone have a specific brand they swear by that matches the console's aesthetic and doesn't overheat the controllers? What’s your top recommendation for a reliable dual-charging dock?

Hmm, I've had a different experience. Not to bash the official dock, but it's kinda overpriced for what it is tbh. If you're looking at the technical specs and want to save some cash for games, I'd actually suggest a different approach. The OIVO PS5 Controller Charging Station with 2H Fast Charging has been my go-to for months and it's seriously solid.

* OIVO PS5 Controller Charging Station with 2H Fast Charging: It uses the EXT port pins so you dont stress the top USB-C, plus the click-in is super satisfying even in the dark.
* Fosmon Dual PS5 Controller Charger: Super low profile and highkey the best value if you want a minimalist look that matches the Pro.

Basically, you get the same 'alignment' ease without the Sony tax. I use it with my Edge and standard DualSense and they never overheat because of the built-in smart chip. It's SO much better for your budget. Good luck!

Yo! Congrats on the Pro upgrade, honestly the cable mess is such a mood. I totally get wanting that reliable "click" feel because fighting with pins at 2 AM is basically the worst lol. For your situation, I'd suggest these technical standouts:

* NexiGo D3 Gen 2 Charging Dock for PS5 – This one is SO sleek. It has LED light bars that match the PS5 aesthetic and it's actually FAST. It tops off my Edge controller in under 3 hours easily.
* OIVO PS5 Controller Charging Station with 1.5-Hour Fast Charging – This uses a drop-in design that's highkey foolproof for alignment. It has a built-in smart chip so it wont overcharge or heat up your batteries, which is huge for protecting the Edge.

Basically, these use better copper connectors than the cheap spring-loaded pins on generic docks. I've been super satisfied with the build quality tho. Peace!

yo, using cables all the time eventually wears out ur USB ports. alignment is also highkey the biggest issue in the dark... it's literally so annoying. Here's what I recommend:

* PlayStation 5 DualSense Charging Station
* PowerA Twin Charging Station for DualSense Wireless Controllers

both fit the Edge perfectly and have a solid click. i think the official one matches the Pro best, right? gl!

Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.

TL;DR: The thread is leaning toward the official charger for fit or third-party docks for speed. Jumping in here because I've gone through a ton of these over the years. Like someone mentioned, that 'click' feel is a total dealbreaker if it's missing, especially when you're trying to dock it in the dark. Most of the people here are focusing on the balance between aesthetic and charging speed. In my experience, performance often comes down to the power source and heat management. Before I suggest any of the more niche high-end units I've used, I have a couple questions... are you planning to plug the dock into the console itself or do you want a dedicated wall plug? Also, do you care more about raw speed or are you worried about long-term battery health for that Edge controller? I dont want to suggest a fast charger if it's gonna cook your batteries.

Ok so I have been down this same rabbit hole since picking up my Pro. It is honestly wild how many brands are flooding the market right now, from the big names to those random ones you see on sites like Amazon. My current setup actually went through like three different docks before I found one that did not feel like cheap plastic. I realy learned my lesson after I basically fried the battery on an old controller using a super cheap knockoff that had zero overcharge protection... that was a wierd day. Before I can realy give a solid recommendation though, I have a couple questions:

  • Are you looking for something that sits on top of the console or a standalone unit for a desk?
  • Do you have a specific color scheme in mind to match the Pro or are you just sticking with the white? Looking at the market lately, there is a massive gap between the different brands:
  • The premium brands have the best build quality but you are paying a huge markup for the name.
  • The mid-tier brands are doing the most innovation with things like better pin alignment and cooling.
  • The budget brands are highkey risky for your controller longevity. It is definitely worth checking the voltage specs regardless of what you pick tbh... you dont want to cook your new Edge!

Same setup here, love it
