I just finally pulled the trigger on the Sony a6700, and wow, the jump in autofocus performance and video features compared to my old setup is insane! However, now that I have the camera in hand, I’ve realized that the 'out-of-the-box' experience is a little bit basic. Sony doesn't even include a dedicated wall charger anymore, and I’m already worried about keeping those NP-FZ100 batteries topped up for a full day of shooting without having to plug the camera into a wall every time.
I’m planning to use this for a mix of travel photography and some casual vlogging, so I want to build a kit that’s functional but still keeps the setup relatively compact. I’ve already been looking at tempered glass screen protectors because that flip-out screen feels a bit delicate, but I’m overwhelmed by the accessory options for everything else. I'm also curious if anyone has found a specific neck strap or wrist strap that doesn't feel too bulky on this smaller APS-C body.
Are there any 'hidden gem' accessories that you’ve found indispensable for the a6700? Specifically, what would you consider the top 3-4 must-have items for a new owner to pick up right away to get the most out of this body?
Unfortunately, Sony skipping chargers is basically lame. grab the SmallRig NP-FZ100 Camera Battery Charger 4087 ($15) and Peak Design Cuff Wrist Strap ($35). i've had issues with cheap junk, so be careful tho. gl!
Adding my two cents here cuz I've been through the ringer with new Sony bodies before. Honestly, over the years I've tried many cheap accessories, and I once had a generic charger nearly catch fire in a hotel room... seriously it was terrifying and could've ruined my whole trip. Now I'm way more cautious about what I plug my expensive batteries into!! Curious about one thing: before I give my full list, what’s your primary lens right now? If youre using a heavy zoom vs a small prime, my strap and grip recommendations change totally cuz balance is everything on a small body like the a6700... Anyway, to keep it budget-friendly but safe: • Grab the ULBTER a6700 Tempered Glass Screen Protector 3-Pack for like $9. It's basically cheap insurance for that flip screen.
• Instead of just a wrist strap, check out the Peak Design Leash Camera Strap L-AS-3. It’s super thin and fits the APS-C vibe perfectly but still lets you go hands-free when traveling.
• For power, the K&F Concept NP-FZ100 Dual Slot Battery Charger is a really solid, reliable alternative to the one mentioned above and it's usually under $20. Lesson learned: never trade safety for a few bucks!! anyway let me know about that lens

Honestly, the best thing you can do for a new body like the a6700 is to think about the long-term maintenance yourself instead of paying for a pro service every time. I’ve found that doing your own sensor cleaning is a total game changer, especially when you’re out traveling and swapping lenses. I would definitely look into these general categories:
