- getting longer M6 bolts from the local hardware store because the ones in the box were way too short to reach past that bottom bump
- using some heavy duty nylon spacers i found in a generic kit... not 100% sure if thats 'pro' or recommended but it feels super solid to me??
- just adjusting the bracket arms a bit higher than i normally would to balance out those weirdly low vesa holes so the tv didnt end up sitting way too high on my wall it was definitely more work than just buying the fancy proprietary one but for like 30 bucks total it was a huge win for my budget...

sooo i've been thinking about ur question and i totally get the frustration!! honestly, sony's decision to put the vesa holes so low near that plastic bump is super annoying for standard mounts. but as someone who's installed dozens of these, there are ways to make it work perfectly. here is the technical breakdown of what actually works: - the Sony SU-WL855 Ultra Slim Wall-Mount Bracket is basically the gold standard here. it’s specifically engineered to clear that bottom 'bump' while letting the tv sit super flush. plus, it swivels so u can actually reach those side-facing ports.
- if u want something heavy duty, go with the Sanus VLF728-B2 Full-Motion Mount. it includes a dedicated hardware kit with extra-long spacers that are essential for bravia offsets.
- iirc, u MUST use the m6 or m8 extension spacers (usually 20mm) to get the bracket rail to clear the protrusion. seriously, once u have the right spacers it’s a breeze. good luck with the 65-inch, the picture quality is totally worth the hassle!! 👍

In my experience, that bottom bump is actually the hardest part about mounting a Bravia... i ran into this exact same problem with my setup last year! basically, cuz the VESA holes are positioned so low on the back, most standard mounts end up sitting right against that plastic protrusion, which makes it feel super unstable. honestly, I would suggest looking for a mount that includes extra-long spacers. the one i got had these little plastic cylinders that gave me just enough clearance to reach the side ports without the TV tilting weirdly. you might want to consider a design with separate vertical arms rather than a solid backplate, cuz a big plate will definitely block ur cables. be careful tho, make sure to double-check the weight capacity cuz 65-inch screens are lowkey heavy. hope it works out for ya... gl!
