I recently upgraded to a Sony Bravia X90L, and while the 4K picture is absolutely stunning, the built-in speakers are leaving me a bit disappointed during action movies. I’m looking to add some external speakers but I’m a bit confused about what integrates best. I really want to ensure whatever I buy supports HDMI eARC and Bravia Sync so I can keep using my original TV remote for everything. I’ve been eyeing the Sony HT-A series soundbars for that 'ecosystem' benefit, but I’ve also heard great things about Sonos and Bose. Does sticking with Sony hardware actually provide a better connection or features like Acoustic Center Sync? What external speaker setup are you using with your Bravia for the best balance of sound quality and ease of use?
Been thinking about your question and honestly, Sony gear is great but SO expensive. For a budget setup that still works with your remote, I'd check out the Vizio V-Series 5.1 Home Theater Sound Bar V51-H6. It's usually under $200 and has eARC support. Just be realy careful with your HDMI cable quality cuz cheap ones cause handshake errors with Bravia Sync. It's a decent option if u wanna save some cash. 👍
> I’ve been eyeing the Sony HT-A series soundbars for that 'ecosystem' benefit... Does sticking with Sony hardware actually provide a better connection or features like Acoustic Center Sync? hey! honestly, i was in the exact same spot when i got my Sony BRAVIA XR X90L 4K HDR Full Array LED TV. i seriously debated the high-end Sonos stuff but sticking with Sony for the Bravia Sync is lowkey worth it just for the "one remote" life. I ended up grabbing the Sony HT-S2000 3.1ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar when it was on sale for like $349. basically, it’s a total steal compared to the reallyyy expensive A-series bars. i actually tested the Sony HT-A3000 3.1ch Soundbar too, which is usually around $499. that Acoustic Center Sync thing is pretty cool—it makes the voices feel like they’re coming right out of the screen—but i think the S2000 is the better value proposition if ur looking to save some cash. everything just works through the eARC port with zero lag. plus, you don't have to fiddle with settings cuz the TV recognizes it instantly. so yeah, I'm super satisfied with the budget route. gl! 👍
Tbh if you really want quality, skip the soundbars and go for a proper receiver. I use the Denon AVR-S760H 7.2 Channel 8K Receiver and it plays super nice with the Bravia Sync. You get that single remote ease of use but with way better overhead for upgrades later. I actually had to DIY a custom riser for my X90L last week because the stand is so low to the table. Ended up spending the whole afternoon in the garage cutting MDF just to get the TV high enough so my speakers wouldnt block the IR sensor... it was a whole thing and my wife is still mad about the sawdust in the carpet. Ngl my cable management is a total wreck now too because I had to move everything around. But yeah, going with a separate AVR is definitely the move for better soundstage.
.
Totally agree with the above! Having one remote for everything is basically the dream. I’ve been running a similar setup for years and honestly, the reliability of sticking with one brand is usually better, but you gotta be careful. I’m a bit of a stickler for safety since I’ve seen eARC ports get fried from static or hot-swapping cables while the power is still on... it happens way more than people think. Saw this earlier and had a couple of quick questions to help narrow it down:
1. What’s your actual budget? The big-name 'ecosystem' bars can get PRICEY really fast.
2. Are you wall-mounting or using a stand? Just asking because cable management and airflow are lowkey super important for keeping your gear from overheating or putting stress on the ports. Better to be safe than sorry with such an expensive TV!
Big if true
