So I finally treated myself to a new 55 inch Sony Bravia tv last week since my old one finally gave up on me but honestly the speakers on this thing are kinda disappointing. I find myself having to turn the volume up to like 50 just to hear what people are saying in movies and then the music gets way too loud it’s driving me crazy. I dont know anything about audio stuff or what ports I need to use so sorry if this is a dumb question but do I need to stay with a Sony brand soundbar or can I get a different one? I got maybe 350 dollars to spend and I wanna buy something today. What should I be looking for...
I've messed with tons of setups over the years and matching brands is a total myth. For dialogue issues, you need a 3.1 system so voices get their own channel. Check RTINGS for the best technical specs.
Ugh, I honestly had high hopes for matching a Sony bar with a Bravia but I was super let down by the entry level stuff. Unfortunately the built-in speakers on the new TVs are just trash across the board... so you definitely need something to save your ears. Heres what I've tried lately:
You definitely dont have to stick with Sony brands, tho it can make setup slightly easier. I think any soundbar with an HDMI eARC port should work fine with your Bravia remote. IIRC, that eARC thing is the key for getting the best sound quality without any lag. Heres what matters most:
Big if true
Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.
