I've been through about four different setups over the years and the biggest mistake I made early on was buying those cheap multi-color 'rave' strips. They look cool for five minutes but they absolutely wreck the color accuracy of a high-end screen. I once had a set that was so blue it turned every movie into a cold, clinical mess. You really need to make sure you're getting a true 6500K white or your eyes will just keep straining. Before you stick anything to that expensive TV, keep these things in mind:

Clean the back of the TV with alcohol first or the strip will fall off in a week

Make sure your wall is a neutral color or the light reflects back as a weird tint

Just catching up on this. If the Mk2 is too pricey, the MediaLight LX1 Bias Lighting 6500K 95 CRI is a great middle ground. It's way cheaper but still very accurate for those Sony colors. Just keep the brightness around 10% of your screens peak white so it doesnt wash out the picture. Check the sizing tool on the MediaLight website to get the right length for a 65 inch.

Does anyone know which bias lighting kits are actually good for a Sony TV because I'm totally lost here and dont want to ruin my screen? I just got this new 65 inch Sony a few weeks ago and I love it but honestly my eyes are starting to strain like crazy when I watch movies at night with the lights off. Someone on another site mentioned bias lighting but i literally have no idea what that even means or how it works. Is it just like a sticky LED strip you put on the back? I'm worried about getting something that messes up the colors or makes the black parts of the screen look grey and weird. My budget is probably around $60 since I already spent way too much on the TV itself but I'm looking to get it set up before my family comes over next Friday for a marathon. I live in a pretty small apartment so the TV is close to the wall and I dont want it to be like a rave in my living room just something that helps the picture look more crisp and saves my eyes.
