So Ive been a loyal CamelCamelCamel user for what feels like a decade now. It’s always been my go-to for tracking random tech gear for my home setup here in Seattle, but honestly Im starting to hit some walls with it that I didnt notice before. Im planning this big photography trip to Japan in late November and I really need to snag a Sony A7IV and maybe a 24-70mm lens before I go. Since Im looking at spending nearly $3,000 total, every percentage point counts and I dont want to miss the actual bottom of the curve.

The problem is Camel feels a bit laggy lately. I'll get an email alert saying a lens dropped $200 but when I open the link literally three minutes later, the price is back to MSRP. Its super frustrating. Ive heard people swear by Keepa because it tracks way more data points like the Buy Box and even warehouse deals which would be huge for me since I dont mind buying open-box glass to save a few hundred bucks if the glass is clean.

Ive played with the Keepa extension a little but the UI is honestly kind of a mess? Its like staring at a Bloomberg terminal for toasters. I need to know if the learning curve is actually worth it for someone who isnt a professional reseller. Here is what I am looking for specifically:

Faster-than-email notifications (do they do push alerts through an app or something?)

Tracking for Used

Like New specifically from Amazon Warehouse

Accuracy with lightning deals because Camel seems to miss those entirely half the time

Something that wont slow my browser down to a crawl since I keep like 50 tabs open

Is the paid version of Keepa the way to go here or am I overthinking this and just need to stick with what I know? I just feel like the Amazon pricing algorithms are getting way more aggressive and my old tools arent keeping up anymore...

What are some actually decent apps for organizing Christmas shopping lists that dont feel like total junk? I’ve been a hardcore spreadsheet user for like a decade, usually just a simple Google Sheet or Excel mobile, but I’m totally overwhelmed this year and the mobile interface is killing me when I am actually in the aisles. My family expanded a ton since last year and now I’m looking at 24 people to shop for with a strict $1800 budget and I need something that can handle status tracking like bought, wrapped, and shipped because I have to send half these gifts to my cousins in Canada by the 15th.

I tried Santa's Bag and another one I can't even remember the name of but they felt so clunky and one of them kept glitching every time I tried to add a price or a specific store location. It’s already the first week of December and I havent even started yet so I’m starting to panic a little bit. I need something that syncs across devices because I like to add ideas on my iPad but check them off on my phone while I'm actually out. Do any of these apps actually have a barcode scanner that works properly? Or at least a way to attach photos of receipts so I dont lose track of what I actually spent?

I really need to get this sorted by this weekend or I’m gonna be that person doing express shipping on the 23rd again...

I am so incredibly happy because I finally saved up enough money to buy the Dyson Airwrap and a few other things for my sisters wedding in Chicago next month. I literally just went to the store and bought it all 4 days ago! It was like $600 total which is a massive amount of money for me to spend at once but I was so proud of myself for finally getting it.

But then I just saw online today that there is this big Spring sale thing starting tomorrow where everything is like 10 or 20 percent off for members? I think? I am literally so new to this whole Sephora Insider stuff and I have no clue how it works or if I totally messed up the timing of my purchase. I really dont want to have to drive all the way back there because the store is like 40 minutes away from my house and I have work all week.

Is there a way they can just give me the difference back since it was so recent? I still have my paper receipt and I used the app too. Sorry if this is a totally dumb question but I just really want that extra money back if possible because I still need to buy my shoes and a clutch for the wedding lol. Does Sephora do price adjustments if something goes on sale right after you buy it?

Does anyone know a reliable free price tracker for Amazon Canada that isn't lagging like crazy lately? I've been using CamelCamelCamel for a decade but honestly it's letting me down big time this month. I'm trying to track a Breville Barista Express for my wife's birthday which is coming up in three weeks and the price on .ca is bouncing between 750 and 600 bucks like every other day.

I need something with fast desktop notifications or maybe a browser extension that doesnt require a paid sub to see the actual price drops in real time. I tried Keepa too but it feels like they paywalled all the useful data since I last checked and I really dont want to drop 20 euros a month just to save 100 bucks on a coffee machine. Is there some hidden gem I'm missing? Maybe something that handles the Canadian exchange rate better or just has more frequent scrapes of the site. I'm checking the page manually like 10 times a day and I'm gonna lose my mind if I miss the next drop because my tracker was 4 hours late to the party...

I've been using CamelCamelCamel and Keepa for years to track price drops on Amazon, usually works fine. But I'm trying to grab a Sony 85mm f1.8 lens before my sister's wedding in October, budget is strictly under 450. The issue is, lately these trackers are lagging big time. My logic was that Camel would ping me instantly when it hits a new low, but last week I missed a lightning deal by like three hours because the email alert didn't trigger until the sale was already over.

So I started thinking about setting up a custom web scraper with Python and BeautifulSoup, maybe running it on a cron job, but Amazon's bot detection is aggressive now and I don't really want to pay for residential proxies just for a one-off purchase. I even looked into using some Discord webhooks but still have the scraping latency issue.

Is there a reliable way to get near-instant alerts now without getting my IP blocked? Maybe a Telegram bot or some self-hosted tool that actually works with Amazon's current anti-scraping measures?
