Honestly, while everyone's chasing the $50 off, I’d be looking at how easy it’s gonna be to maintain the Sony WH-1000XM6 yourself. Ngl, Sony's official repair prices are a joke. I usually wait for the launch-year deals but then immediately check for teardowns to see if the battery is user-replaceable. If you can swap it yourself with a generic lithium-ion replacement battery or upgrade to Dekoni Audio ear pads when the originals inevitably flake, the 'value' is way higher. Basically, a DIY approach makes even a small Cyber Monday discount worth it. Iirc the XM5 was a bit of a pain to open compared to the XM4, so I'm hoping the XM6 isn't totally glued shut. Well, as someone who rode XM3 → XM4 → XM5, I’d honestly say: don’t chase a tiny Cyber Monday discount on a launch-year XM6 if you care about long‑term use. My XM4 headband cracked after ~2 years, XM5 pads flattened way faster than I expected, and Sony’s out-of-warranty support wasn’t amazing. So instead of hoping for $50–$80 off, I’d watch for: (1) retailers that bundle an extended warranty, (2) easy pad/headband replacement options, and (3) good return windows in case comfort or QC is off.
