Which Sony headphones are actually gonna hold up for heavy gym sessions and daily runs without sliding off my head? Im really torn between the WH-1000XM5 over-ears and the WF-1000XM5 earbuds right now. I have a budget of about $350 and I need to make a decision by next week because Im starting a 12-week training block for a half-marathon here in Seattle. The over-ears look so comfy and the noise cancelling would be amazing for blocking out the terrible gym music but Im honestly terrified the ear pads are gonna get ruined by sweat within a month or that theyll just fly off when I start hitting my stride on the treadmill.

Then there are the buds which seem like the logical choice for running but my ears are weirdly shaped and I always have issues with things staying put. I saw some people say the foam tips on the XM5 buds are a game changer but others say they crumble if they get too wet. I do a mix of heavy lifting and about 20-30 miles of running a week so they gotta be versatile. Is the sound quality on the buds good enough to justify the fit risk or should I just get the big ones and pray they dont slide off? I just dont want to spend this much money and have them break or feel annoying while Im trying to focus...

Which Sony over-ears can actually handle a really intense workout without the ANC or the touch sensors glitching out? Ive been using my XM4s for years for my commute and travel but recently started taking them to the gym to block out the trash music they play there. The problem is I sweat a ton and now the right ear cup keeps doing this weird phantom clicking thing which is super annoying. I have a 350 budget and need something by next week before my new program starts. Should I just risk it with the XM5 or is there a more rugged model that still has that bassy Sony sound? I really dont want to switch to earbuds because they never stay in my ears when I do heavy deadlifts...

I've been hitting the gym way more lately because I finally signed up for that half-marathon in October - local race here in Seattle so I'm expecting at least a little bit of drizzle during my training runs. I really want to stick with Sony because I love their sound profile but I'm getting such mixed signals from all the reviews online.

I saw a bunch of people recommending the WH-1000XM5s because the noise canceling is top tier and I'd love to block out the annoying gym music, but then other threads say they're actually terrible for workouts because the ear pads get all gross with sweat and they might slip off my head during sprints. Then I looked at the LinkBuds S which seem way better for sweat resistance but I'm worried the battery wont actually last through my longer 2-hour weekend runs if I have the ANC cranked up the whole time.

I've got about $300 max to spend and I need to get these ordered by Friday before I head out on a trip. Is there a specific Sony model that hits the sweet spot for staying put while running but still handles the gym environment well?

I am honestly so stressed out trying to pick something and I feel like I'm going in circles. I finally started this high intensity functional fitness class and I'm also trying to get into running but my current situation is a total disaster. I have these old wired earbuds that I've been using and they are constantly getting tangled in my arms when I'm doing kettlebell swings or they just pop out of my ears the second I start sweating even a little bit. It is so awkward to be in the middle of a crowded gym and have to crawl around on the floor looking for an earbud that fell out while everyone is moving around me. I've heard such good things about Sony and I really want to get a pair that will actually last but looking at all the options is just overwhelming me. I have about $300 saved up which is a lot for me and I'm really nervous about making the wrong choice.

I see people wearing those big bulky headphones in the gym but then I see other people with the tiny ones that go inside your ear and I just dont know which is better for someone who is moving around a lot. I live in Florida and it is incredibly hot and humid right now so I am sweating buckets every time I go for a run. I'm really worried that if I get the big ones the padding will get all soaked and start smelling like a locker room after a week or that the electronics will just break because of the moisture. But then I worry the little ones wont stay in my ears when I'm sprinting or doing box jumps. I saw some called the XM5 and some others called LinkBuds but I dont really understand what the difference is or if they are even waterproof?

I need to get something by this weekend because I have a long training run scheduled for Sunday and I cant face it without music. Sorry if these are really basic questions but I have no idea what I'm doing and I really dont want to waste my savings on something that isnt going to stay on my head or is going to break because of my sweat. Like is there a specific one that people use for this? I'm so confused by all the letters and numbers on the boxes. Which Sony one is actually the best for someone who is doing really intense workouts and running outside in the heat?

Which Sony headphones am I actually supposed to get for a reliable studio mix because I am losing my mind over here? I'm currently stuck between the industry standard MDR-7506 and those new open-back MDR-MV1s and I just can't decide which is gonna save my projects.

I'm finishing up an EP for this local band in Seattle and I have to have it done by next Friday but my current setup is lying to me. I'm mixing in a tiny bedroom with zero acoustic treatment so I'm 100% dependent on my headphones right now. My old ones just broke and every time I take a mix to my car it sounds like mud in the low end and way too sharp in the highs. It is so frustrating to spend six hours on a vocal track just to realize it sounds like garbage everywhere else.

My budget is pretty firm at $400 and I need to buy them like today so they arrive in time.

MDR-7506: Everyone uses them but are they too bright for long sessions?

MDR-MV1: People say the spatial stuff is great but is the open-back design gonna be a problem for detail?

MDR-CD900ST: I saw these imports online but idk if they're worth the hassle of shipping from Japan.

I'm leaning towards the MV1s because they look more comfortable for 8 hour days but I'm worried they won't be as honest as the 7506s. Which one is actually gonna give me a mix that translates?
