So I finally pulled the trigger on a Sony FX3 for my best friends wedding next month in Austin and I am so pumped but also totally lost lol. I see all these pro looking rigs on youtube with metal frames around them but I have no idea where to even start or what brands are actually good. My logic was that I probably need a cage to protect the camera since it cost so much but then I realized I need places to screw in my monitor and a mic. Is SmallRig the only option?? I saw some stuff from Tilta but it looks way more complicated with different parts you have to buy separately. I have about 400 bucks left in my budget for this stuff and I dont want to waste it on something that wont fit. Also do I even need a new handle if the camera came with that top part for the audio? I was thinking maybe a side handle would help with the shaking because my hands are kinda jittery when I get nervous. Sorry if this is a super basic question I just really dont want to mess up the wedding footage. Does the cage make the camera way heavier? I'm worried it's gonna be a brick after an 8 hour day...

Unfortunately, the stock Sony handle has too much flex and it's not as good as expected for professional work. I've had issues with SmallRig build quality lately, which is quite disappointing. For your budget, these are better options:
- Tilta Full Camera Cage for Sony FX3/FX30 V2 Black
- SmallRig Side Handle with Wireless Control It's gonna be a bit of a brick, but the extra weight actually helps smooth out those jitters.

What monitor model are you mounting? Weight distribution is vital for 8-hour wedding days. In my experience, these offer better ergonomics:

Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, the stock Sony handle has too much...", it is honestly so true and super frustrating. You buy this high-end cinema body and then the handle feels like a toy... it is definitely not as good as expected. One thing to keep in mind for your budget tho is cable management. People always forget to save money for decent cables and clamps. If you spend your whole 400 on the cage and handles, you wont have anything left for the bits that keep your monitor from losing signal mid-ceremony. Just something to think about before you click buy.
